My soul, wait in silence for God alone,
For my hope is from Him.
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
My refuge; I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my glory rest on God;
The rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.
Trust in Him at all times, you people;
Pour out your hearts before Him;
God is a refuge for us. Selah
Psalm 62:5-8

Are you too busy to wait for Him? Do you ever set yourself to be still in His Presence and just wait for Him? Can you be silent and calm and just be … knowing He IS all you need? A person who is shaking is not still – they are overwhelmed with their fears, worries, and anxieties. Their minds wrestle with what MIGHT be, what MIGHT come, and what has been. In His Presence IS the fullness of joy. Does this calm secure knowing describe your prayer times with Him? Are you able to release everything and everyone to Him? Can you continue to place everything into His hands? Do you have a practice and discipline of … waiting for Him?

You will make known to me the way of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever. Psalm 16:11

And what is in that kind of joy in the Lord? Peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. And His (agape) love is immeasurable towards you. This is what awaits those who seek Him with their whole mind, soul, and body. Have you learned to trust Him – in everything? Do you know that there isn’t anything that God can’t take care of in your life? Is He really your …refuge? Is He really your peace?

How do we get to that kind of relationship with Him? “Pour out your hearts before Him.” This isn’t ‘religious’ flowery words. This is the kind of real honest yearnings and groanings coming from the absolute depths of your soul. Can you express them? Why do you exist? So that He might love you and have a deep relationship with you!

Now in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know what to pray for as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:25-27

Even when we can’t, He does. What inexpressible love He has for us. God REALLY IS a refuge for us! Can you be purely, and deeply honest with Him about all that you are currently wrestling with? Maybe you need to ask the Holy Spirit what your spirit and soul is really wrestling with? What is more important in this life than this relationship you have with Him? How worth it is it to actually wait for Him? What investment of time are you willing to you give Him? What part of your day is set aside for Him?

Do you trust Him? Do you know …He is the One who rewards us?

Go be with Him.

Selah.
