Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Psalms 116:15
I shall ransom them from the power of Sheol;
I shall redeem them from Death.
O Death, where are your plagues?
O Sheol, where is your sting?
Compassion is hidden from my eyes. Hosea 13:14
When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.”
“O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. 1 Corinthians 15:54-56
For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this tent we groan, longing to put on our heavenly dwelling, if indeed by putting it on we may not be found naked. For while we are still in this tent, we groan, being burdened—not that we would be unclothed, but that we would be further clothed, so that what is mortal may be swallowed up by life. He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.
So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. 2 Corinthians 5:1-10
Have you the spiritual hope residing in your soul? God’s hope is NOT a ‘wish’, it is a promise, and a surety. Do you know beyond any doubt what will happen when you shed this earthly body? This is what makes His disciples so different from the world. They don’t have any fear of death. In the spiritual realm this is a BIG danger to any enemy of God, because we ONLY fear God and nothing else. Is that true for you?
The loss of a loved one is difficult, the grief is real and needs to be felt and acknowledged, and we need to allow the Holy Spirit to comfort us and console us. But… if our beloved were in Christ … there is also a gladness and joy deep within our souls knowing exactly where they are and who they are with. The reunion in heavenly time will be VERY soon. God is not hindered by time. Nor those who are in His Presence.
1 Day = 1,000 years (2 Peter 3:8) / 4.2 days = 1 second / 70yrs = 1 hour 41 minutes / 40 days = 9.5 seconds. Time is relative in His Presence. How do you measure the eternal? It is only in our dimension that we experience time differently because of the curse of sin. Soon and very soon we will be with our King. So then let us be about His business each and every day we have remaining that He has given us. Paul explains it this way…
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell. I am hard pressed between the two. My desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better. But to remain in the flesh is more necessary on your account. Philippians 1:21-24
This is the true life – to be crucified with Christ, terminally committed with each day lived within HIS life and not our own. Do you feel the longing of the coming reunion deep within your soul? Does that excite your spirit?
Love not this earth so much, and set your sights on Heaven. For even this earth will be destroyed. Do not be like the heathen who worship this earth for even the earth will be remade.
But by the same word the heavens and earth that now exist are stored up for fire, being kept until the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. 2 Peter 3:7
Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. Revelation 21:1
Today is about Him. And His plan for you. And His assignments for you, that He might be exalted and lifted up. It is about learning to walk with Him in each moment of your day. Isn’t about time you begin listening to the Holy Spirit’s direction for each day? How many days do you have left? Shouldn’t we be investing them wisely?
