Spiritual Discernment

The wisdom of the prudent is to discern his way, but the folly of fools is deceiving. Proverbs 14:8

The discerning sets his face toward wisdom, but the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth. Proverbs 17:24

Do not toil to acquire wealth; be discerning enough to desist. Proverbs 23:4

Whoever is wise, let him understand these things; whoever is discerning, let him know them; for the ways of the Lord are right, and the upright walk in them, but transgressors stumble in them. Hosea 14:9

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2

The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14

How does one obtain spiritual discernment? Just by reading the Bible? I know atheists that read the Bible. And most of them know the Bible better than most pew-sitter Christians. By memorizing the scriptures? What’s the difference between ‘head’ knowledge and ‘heart’ knowledge? Can one be able to quote scripture but never live by it? So what is our source for real spiritual discernment and wisdom? How can we ever actually discern and know the spiritual Truth of things and people?

This is what the institutional Church rarely ever talks about. The mystery of the indwelling Presence of the Holy Spirit in those that have asked Him to baptize them with His Presence. Those individuals who literally live with the living Presence of the Holy Spirit inside of them. It is the exact antithesis of the demon possessed. The demon possessed KNOW they are possessed by the constant voice in their heads speaking to them constantly. Yet — we in Christendom think that the Holy Spirit won’t speak to us in the same way. To a point that is true — but it would have to do with the language and intent of the words — but the method of delivery is still the same … in the mind of the individual. 99% of the institutional Churches won’t help you discern the Voice of the Holy Spirit or any of the other voices speaking in your mind. Do you know that other spirits can speak into the mind even when they don’t possess a person? Some label that demon oppression – even though the effect is virtually the same on the individual … which is a nagging evil voice telling you lies. Who can discern what is a lie and what is not?

Spiritual discernment is by FAR the most crucial need at this point in time for Christians .. around the world. Developing that relationship with the Holy Spirit where you can instantly recognize His Voice within you … is the only way to spiritually learn and grow into spiritual maturity. You cannot grow in spiritual maturity through another man’s teaching. The Holy Spirit MUST be the One who tells you what is true, and interprets the scriptures for your true understanding and enlightenment. You cannot become spiritually mature from second-hand information and knowledge.  Unless the Holy Spirit is your personal Teacher leading you to His wisdom — you will always remain spiritually immature. There are MANY who claim to be ‘wise’ and spiritually mature by reason of all of their book learning, educational degrees, and large following — but those are NOT the real evidence of a spiritually mature individual — as it can all be a ‘performance’ and fake. Only God knows the heart of the individual, and unless the Holy Spirit reveals the Truth about someone — you will not be fully able to discern it.

So how are you doing with your relationship with the Holy Spirit? How are you doing with what He has been asking you to do? How are you doing with the things He is asking you to change in your life? How are you doing with instantly recognizing His Voice in you mind? Have you learned how to discern all the voices and thoughts and where they are coming from in your mind? Can you differentiate between your voice and the Voice of the Holy Spirit in your mind? How important do you think that skill is — when it comes to your spiritual understanding and maturity? How does one really ‘renew’ their own mind? (Romans 12:2) Can you do it yourself or is that the work of the Holy Spirit within you — working with you and your will and choices on which way to go and which ways not to go? How much surrender of your will have you really given to the Holy Spirit in your life? How much does the Holy Spirit talk to you about your own “cross” that He wants you to pick up daily?

Are you brave enough to ask the Holy Spirit to teach you how to hear Him more clearly? Are you brave enough to ask Jesus to baptize you completely with the Holy Spirit? How much are you willing to surrender to Him? To your death?

  1. Oh my. Such things I was just in deep discussion about yesterday with an old friend. I guided her in how to have a relationship with God, how to speak to Him and how to discern His voice from the others. All because I was checking in with her and her new home in Florida. God brings them to me and I send them back to move to the next phase with God🩷
