Do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be afraid, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you; I will surely help you;
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
So do not be afraid of them. For there is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, and nothing hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the housetops.
Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Instead, fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Matthew 10:26-31
With the increasing unstableness of the earth, sun, weather, and unchecked violence, economic deterioration, monetary inflation, and increased evil blatantly staring in our faces everywhere now in our culture and neighborhoods – eradicating fear is becoming a significant challenge. Knowing these scriptures beyond the surface of mental understanding – will be necessary for survival in the coming season. We need to know His Presence beyond the surface recognition of ‘fact’. We need to know it in our soul, and spirit. We need to know it intimately through trials and challenges, that He is with us. We need to know it within us inherently when faced with blatant evil. How do we obtain this intimate knowing? By learning to listen to and recognize Him now – in your everyday life. Can you be comfortable in silence for more than a minute? Or are you quickly on your phone scrolling the moment there is a break. Do you quickly turn on music or a podcast or audio book rather than have silence? When faced with ‘downtime’ what is your first ‘go to’? Is it prayer? Is it seeking the Lord? Do you immediately begin to quiet your mind and soul and listen for Him? Have you learned to hear Him in the midst of a noisy environment? Have you learned to always pray while driving your vehicle? We must learn to recognize that He is with us. Are you aware of His quiet still Presence and voice?
Unfortunately, with the current technology so many of us have trained ourselves to turn to it when there is any kind of break. Can you retrain yourself to turn to Him at every break in your life? This will take discipline, repetition, and constancy. It takes working at it. It will take you to set yourself intentional reminders – to turn to Him at every opportunity. This will only happen by your intentional willful choices … to choose Him, over and over again, every day, every moment, every break. This is how you decrease your …fear factor in your life. Is this something that you are working on? Are you intentionally memorizing scripture to reprogram your mind and thinking? What else is the Holy Spirit having you do to increase your spiritual maturity and lesson your fear? Have you asked Him? Have you been quiet long enough to hear Him?
Father we recognize YOUR sovereignty in our lives. Jesus YOU are our best friend, big brother, and savior / King. Holy Spirit YOU are our Guide and Teacher, always pointing us to Jesus. Help us learn from YOU!
Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation, but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption to sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. And if we are children, then we are heirs: heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ—if indeed we suffer with Him, so that we may also be glorified with Him. Romans 8:12-17
