Are you being prepared?

But, as it is written,

“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love
Him”—

these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 ESV

For while we are in this tent, we groan, being burdened [often weighed down, oppressed], not that we want to be unclothed [separated by death from the body], but to be clothed, so that what is mortal [the body] will be swallowed up by life [after the resurrection]. Now He who has made us and prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the [Holy] Spirit as a pledge [a guarantee, a down payment on the fulfillment of His promise]. 2 Corinthians 5:4-5 AMP

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 ESV

God has a plan for each of us. Are you allowing Him to prepare you for it? This earthly life goes by very quickly. It is VERY short on the scale of our existence. So many things are far out of our control. But what IS in our control? Our free will to choose Him! Because of love we have an invitation to come into His Presence and abide with Him… in every moment. How? By the Holy Spirit who abides within us IF we allow Him to do so. Are you inviting the Holy Spirit into your days and decision-making processes throughout your day? Do you defer to His preferences? Often, He will ask us to go and do things outside of our comfort zones. Do you trust Him in those times and places? This is our daily challenge. How much do you invite Him into your daily work and practices? This is far beyond … religion. This IS the ‘heart’ of the relationship where real intimacy is built on a daily basis … with Him.

Do you turn to Him before allowing your mind to numbingly ‘scroll’ … or do you automatically turn to media sources? There are many times during the day when we have our ‘mindless’ tasks – what do you allow your mind to dwell on when your mind is idle? Are you filling it with the latest ‘media’ content, or are you turning to the Holy Spirit in those moments? Do you purposely begin conversations with Him? Some might actually call that … prayer. I just see it as just … talking with my Friend. How much do you engage with Him in your day?

Are you ready for what is coming next in your life? Who knows what unseen thing is just around the corner of your life? God knows. Are you allowing Him prepare you for it? Are you seeking His advice? Are you genuinely asking Him questions, and expecting Him to respond?

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. James 1:5

There are many transition times in our lives. God knows what you will be going through. Are you allowing Him to help you … prepare for them? Maybe … instead of always turning to the latest news or internet ‘feeding trough’ when your mind goes idle – you could converse with the Holy Spirit about what He wants for your life… in that moment?

Father … YOU are our Source. Holy Spirit… I want You to prepare me for what is coming my way today. Help me Lord to be aware of You – everywhere – all the time.
