Then Pilate said, “So, are you a king or not?” Jesus answered, “You tell me. Because I am King, I was born and entered the world so that I could witness to the truth. Everyone who cares for truth, who has any feeling for the truth, recognizes My voice.” John 18:37 MSG
It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that He exists and that He cares enough to respond to those who seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 MSG
Does God actually care?
The one who does not love does not know God, because God is love. 1 John 4:8
Love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous; love does not brag, it is not arrogant. It does not act disgracefully, it does not seek its own benefit; it is not provoked, does not keep an account of a wrong suffered, it does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; it keeps every confidence, it believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to Him than birds. Matthew 6:26 MSG
Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7
Anyone who really knows Him … knows He cares deeply for you. That’s what love does. There are ‘built in’ examples all throughout His creation that proves He greatly cares. We can approach Him in prayer with the smallest of anxieties and cares that are weighing down our hearts and souls. How a new dad and mom care so GREATLY for their newly birthed child. Nothing else compares to the new little life. So, God has designed us to be like Him … to care. To not love is to go against the way we were made. We often fight against the very way we are made by God. Can we allow His love to change us? Will we allow Him to change our selfish ways? Are we humble enough to allow Him to change our opinion? Can we love as He does? Not without Him.
How much do we allow Him to direct our days? How close do we stay to Him throughout our day? Do we converse with Him all throughout our day? Are we aware where He is working? Is the Holy Spirit showing you His work in those around you?
So much of our old flesh reasons that everyone should ‘feel’ as we do. Everyone should ‘care’ just like we do. Do we care like God cares? What is important to Him? Do you think you are the mirror image of God’s heart and demand everyone else to care like you do? Somewhere pride, fear, and selfishness enters the picture and begins making demands on everyone else. Is that what real love does?
Father … YOU really care for us. YOU know what actually is best for us. Father there is no one who cares for us more than YOU! Jesus… we KNOW You care for us. We can see the scars. Holy Spirit we hear how much YOU care for us… as YOU groan for us beyond words.
Show us YOUR heart Lord… we want to care like YOU do.
