Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Ephesians 6:13

Is spiritual warfare the same as physical warfare? Are the principles the same in how the fighting is done in both realms? Are you trying to fight a battle in the spiritual the same way you do in the physical? In the spiritual realm the battle is won by standing and focusing on Jesus, not by focusing on the enemy. God calls us to ‘stand’ remembering what He has done for us. What do you focus on when you come under spiritual attack? Are you so busy trying to identify the enemy you forget who your King is? In the spiritual realm frequency is very important. Is the frequency coming from you in the spiritual realm blazingly white light? Our ‘light’ comes from Jesus Christ and the indwelling Presence of the Holy Spirit, not from our knowledge or intellect, and not from our rituals or formulas or memorized sayings, but from the Holy Spirit Himself. Our light reflects our real relationship with Him.

As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. John 9:5

Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain. Philippians 2:14-16

When you are under spiritual attack … stand …and begin to worship the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit from the depths of a humble heart. Focus on God … alone. This is how you ‘resist’ the enemy in the spiritual realm. James lays out the situation pretty clearly.

But He gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be wretched and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will exalt you. James 4:6-10

In many religious circles spiritual warfare has become a whole regimented formula with lots of sayings and movements. If Jesus shows up what does the enemy do? If the Holy Spirit shows up what does the enemy do? All we have to do is focus on Him, and LISTEN to Him, and say what He says to say, and the battle is over! Has Jesus won the war or not? His ways are simple to understand. Even a child can do it. If fact, many children do it better because of their child-like faith. We complicate the issue with too much of … us… and what we think we need to do. Stop all the antics and fervor… and just submit to Jesus, and turn your face to Him. Worship Him. Praise Him. And experience the enemy fleeing in every other direction. Speak the words the Holy Spirit He is wanting you to say. It’s that simple. So listen … to Him.

He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him.” Matthew 17:5

1 thought on “Stand.”

  1. Good words and rightly spoken is the fact that children will often do better in spiritual warfare.
It is a simple thing, there “submit” to God, resist the devil and he will flee. And that’s where we stumble and make things complicated, submitting. There are always areas of our lives that if we allow the HS to reveal to us, will see these areas that we are not in submission to God.
It’s a growth process that we must all walk through
