STOP! Before reading further ask the Holy Spirit to breathe into you, and enlighten you, and give you understanding while you read these next few scriptures.
Therefore, brothers, we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way that He has opened for us through the veil, that is to say, His flesh, and since we have a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse them from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us firmly hold the profession of our faith without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to spur one another to love and to good works. Let us not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but let us exhort one another, especially as you see the Day approaching.
For if we willfully continue to sin after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation, which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who despised Moses’ law died without mercy in the presence of two or three witnesses. How much more severe a punishment do you suppose he deserves, who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded the blood of the covenant that sanctified him to be a common thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine,” says the Lord, “I will repay.” And again He says, “The Lord will judge His people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Remember the former days, after you were enlightened, in which you endured a great struggle of afflictions. In part you were made a spectacle both by reproaches and afflictions. And in part you became companions of those who were so abused. For you had compassion on me in my chains and joyfully endured the confiscation of your property, knowing that you have in heaven a better and an enduring possession for yourselves. Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which will be greatly rewarded.
For you need patience, so that after you have done the will of God, you will receive the promise. For,
“In yet a little while,
He who is to come will come, and will not wait.
Now the just shall live by faith;
but if anyone draws back,
My soul shall have no pleasure in him.”
But we are not of those who draw back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul. Hebrews 10:19-39
Peter’s net that could not hold. (Luke 5:5) Water into wine. (John 2:5) Bread and fish multiplied. (John 6:5-6) Daily bread. (Matthew 6:11) Jesus has an infinite supply. He is enough. This issue is not “us” or “me”, it is “not I, but Christ”. Who implants faith within us? Who is our Source?
Now the Lord is the Spirit. And where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. But we all, seeing the glory of the Lord with unveiled faces, as in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory by the Spirit of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Again … who is the Spirit of God? Why have we diminished the Holy Spirit in our teaching? Why do so many in rich western cultures know SO little about the Holy Spirit and have SO few experiences with the Holy Spirit? Who do those “rich” rely on? Why is the Holy Spirit the least and the last to be taught about in American Churches? How can one teach what you don’t really know … by personal life experience?
God will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask.
“And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
“If a son asks for bread from any of you who is a father, will you give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will you give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will you offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?” Luke 11:9-13
One of the fruits of the Spirit is ‘faithfulness’. (Galatians 5:22-23) The Father IS faithful. Jesus IS faithful. The Holy Spirit IS faithful. He IS enough.
Have you forgotten Who your Source is? Do you trust Him?
While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him.” Matthew 17:5
Who was that ‘he’ in that last scripture? Peter. Who denied Jesus not long after this literal ‘mountain top’ glorious revelatory experience. Our strength is NOT in us, but in Him. He IS faithful. He IS enough.
What challenges are you currently facing?
He IS enough.
