But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God. Daniel 6:10
Never stop praying. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere. Ephesians 6:18
Have you developed a powerful prayer life? Have you learned and been taught the intricacies of rich and deep powerful prayer? Has anyone discipled you in prayer? Of all the things in a Christian’s life – prayer is probably the most important. Why? It IS the direct communication with God. With the indwelling Presence of the Holy Spirit we have communion with Him, who then speaks to us and teaches us in our inner being. Prayer is the very essence of life for those who are living His path and purposes for them.
I have been working on extending my time in deep communion with Him. First thing every morning – I meet / pray / with Him. We go on long walks together. I have also been working on having a communion time with Him just before sleep every night. Beginning and ending every day with Him. The Lord has been my Teacher in prayer. Throughout the years I have been involved in groups of people who were also led to pray. Many different types of groups, intercessors, regular working men, ministry leaders, and others – throughout my life I have sought out to join with in prayer. I have read books, watched videos, and been to conferences all on the subject of prayer. Yet nothing can compare to actually praying with Him. We learn by DOING.
The latest resource I’ve been finding especially helpful is the ‘Pause’ app by John Eldredge. It is free and can be put onto your phone. I’m almost finished going through all that is on the app over the past few months, and it has been SO good to spend time with the Lord utilizing that tool together. Are you hungry for more time with Jesus? Are you looking for ways to learn to draw closer to Him? Are you wondering how to expand and deepen your prayer life? John’s app is a good resource to use. I’ve also begun listening to John’s podcast “Wild at Heart”. There are SO many resources out there. So go for it! Begin every morning seeking Him!
Pray with an honest heart in simple language. Don’t try to use ‘flowery’ spiritually sounding language when you pray – (you don’t think God knows your heart and intentions better than you do?!) – but just be yourself. Set yourself before Him every morning – asking Him to speak to you. Eventually you’ll have long periods of just listening to Him. Prayer in my life now is more about listening to Him than anything else. Doesn’t He know what we’ll pray before we pray it? Can you rest in Him? Has prayer become a joy in your life – rather than some ‘ritual’?
Seek Him out with all your heart. In every area of your life – seek Him.
Jesus really IS the answer.
Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you. 1 Peter 5:7

For me it’s been my “diving in” time. Every morning I dive into the pool first thing but I spend a lot of time just sitting and talking to the Lord first before diving in
In the winter it’s especially important as I’m building my courage to take the cold plunge
