The “Good” Giver

For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him! Luke 11:10-13

We all make excuses erroneously. When it comes to spiritual maturity and spiritual gifts and calling there is no hindrance that we have other that which we have allowed within ourselves. God is no respecter of persons, meaning …He does not discriminate on who can receive His blessings. Sure we are all unique and made in His image and an individual, and made for His purposes and love. We all have strengths and weaknesses, but those don’t determine the possible deep level of intimacy with Him. We determine how much we want Him and His gifts, callings, and blessings. We have been given a will / choice to pursue Him at all times at whatever level we desire. These choices daily determine our intimacy with Him. Being able to hear His Voice …is about familiarity and constancy, just like any other relationship. It is like being able to pick out a voice in a crowded room above all the other voices. How is one able to do that? Familiarity. Do you know His Voice that well? What’s keeping you from that kind of intimacy and familiarity? Have you asked Him for a clearer ability to hear Him?

Unfortunately most in christian service now are there because of ‘common sense’ and not a calling from Him. It ‘seems’ like the ‘right’ thing to do, and what a ‘good’ Christian should do. Yet once you basically understand His ‘call’ and you accept it, common sense is no longer in charge, and you are required to listen for His instructions for each ‘assignment’ rather than doing as you want. Why? Because it comes down to hearing Him and following through with what He has set out for you.. no matter the cost, pain, or loss. We have one over arching goal — the finish line to be with Him forever in His Kingdom. This means daily service in Him for the people He has placed into our path and plan. Each encounter then becomes an opportunity to serve Him. Hearing His instructions become paramount to the individual who is TC2.

Many have chosen the career of “ministry” but still not have accepted His ‘call’, nor can they hear His Voice or have an intimate familiarity with Him. They have academic ‘learning’ just like the Pharisees did during the time Jesus walked the earth. We can study till we’re able to quote all the scriptures from memory, but without the Holy Spirit giving us ‘revelation’ — we are like desert with no water. Jesus had all sorts of analogies for the Pharisees and what they were like inside of themselves. You don’t have to be in the ‘career’ of ministry to accept His ‘call’. His call is about being TC2. It’s being all in for whatever He has for your life and days, however many or few they may be. It’s about connecting with Him in all and every time during your day. You learn His Voice and follow Him as He guides you. You don’t have the title of apostle, or prophet, or pastor to have that intimacy with Him. That constant intimacy with Him is what He desires for EVERY one of His children.

The Father is One who gives the gifts which will be the highest complement to the individual He has had in His mind at the time He created them. We will become the zenith of our Creator’s heart as we surrender to His work in our lives. Don’t ever think you do not have enough to be chosen by the Father’s plan, just be willing and hungry to know Him more. Keep the fire of the Holy Spirit burning in your heart and soul.
