When I think of all this, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the Creator of everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Ephesians 3:14-19
What resides in your inner most being? What consumes your heart? Exactly where is God’s temple and presence now on the earth?
Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
What fills your inner most thoughts? What are you most concerned about? Is the conversation with the Holy Spirit within you in constant dialogue with you helping you, teaching you, and guiding you? How are you to understand God’s incredibly deep love for you without the Holy Spirit to show you what that means and help you experience His love for you? How will you experience Jesus without the Holy Spirit currently? How will you learn to know His Presence deeply without the Holy Spirit? How will you have any spiritual strength without the Holy Spirit giving you and teaching you His spiritual disciplines and planting His fruit within you? Have you learned how to go to the deepest parts of you to commune with Him there? How else will you begin to understand His love for you? The mystery is … that His love is beyond totally understanding. We are just barely scratching the surface of His love. We have an eternity to explore His love with Him. Jesus made it possible for us.
The Holy Spirit is the One who explains and interprets the written Word to you. He is the One who makes it alive in you. He is the One who teaches you how to use it correctly.
For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Hebrews 4:12
Prayer:
Jesus, I consecrate my heart and inner most being to you. Fill every crevice and place within me. Holy Spirit reveal to me everything I need to give to Jesus, my cares, my fears, my anxieties, my sin. Come Lord Jesus and fill me with Your love. Holy Spirit come and teach me, instruct me in Your ways, help me experience the Father’s love for me in greater and greater depths.
