That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to Him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Matthew 6:25-27
When I wrestled with the seemingly paradox of prophecy and speculation and what Jesus tells us here, the questions to the Holy Spirit were numerous. Long ago the Holy Spirit said to me that prophecy’s purpose was to bring us back to the Father. Prophecy is actually an act of love for us to re-engage with the Father. He wants us to consider Him. He wants us to engage with Him and humbly come before Him with our honest questions. Prophecy many times includes the consequences of not turning to the Father for help. Prophecy can be a warning from a loving Father to His children to actually learn to obey His directives. Or prophecy can be a glimpse of the things the Father has in store for us … as a reward.
So what should be our response to prophecy? Our hearts pointed at the Father with an open heart and mind to ask Him how we can learn from the prophecy … personally for our life. It always seems to circle back to relationship. Intimate relationship. The kind of relationship where there are no secrets and love is the foundation of it all. Should prophecy give us anxiety or worry? Never. It should just bring us back to Him with an open heart and mind.
So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time He will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
The Terminally Committed To Christ (TC2) life does not worry about tomorrow – it only knows obedience in the moment. This kind of commitment only knows to stay in relationship with God …each day. When you are living His life – where is the worry or concern?
Should we dismiss prophecy? Absolutely NOT! For it is an invitation to the heart of God. We may need to repent, and confess before coming before His throne. We may need to admit our mistakes and wrongdoings. So what is His response?
But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. 1 John 1:9
Are you dwelling on prophecies and attempting in your own mind to figure out the code, or puzzle? Spiritual language and spiritual prophecy can ONLY be interpreted correctly by and through the Holy Spirit. Is He giving you instruction? Is He giving you revelation … for your life? Many in the ‘religious’ orders use prophecy to garner money, power, or influence. There is MUCH false prophecy and even more wrong interpretations. Can you discern the difference? It is not through your own knowledge or understanding that you will be able to discern spiritual things, but ONLY through the Holy Spirit’s guidance and direction and revelation. So our discipline should always be set on listening and engaging with the Holy Spirit, and Jesus. He should always be our focus, of our minds and life. Be careful attempting to take the Holy Spirit’s personal instructions directed at you and point at others. The Father wants personal relationship with ALL His children. As human parents and loving elders our purpose is to direct the ones we love BACK to their Heavenly Father. Always pointing people back to God. Always encouraging others into deeper relationship with the Holy Spirit. Be careful thinking you have the monopoly of the right interpretation of a prophecy or scripture and everyone else needs to understand and agree with you.
Seek Him humbly. Seek Him often. Seek Him always.

I’ve always taken to heart what you said about intimacy with the Lord as a main purpose of the prophetic.
It has opened up to me more since I took that to heart.
Still feel the desire to talk with other learned men who are being led by the Spirit. Just to compare notes.
I find discussing the prophetic with anyone taught by academia a useless endeavor.
