Behold, the Lord lays the earth waste, devastates it, twists its surface, and scatters its inhabitants. And the people will be like the priest, the servant like his master, the female servant like her mistress, the buyer like the seller, the lender like the borrower, the creditor like the debtor. The earth will be completely laid waste and completely plundered, for the Lord has spoken this word. The earth dries up and crumbles away, the mainland dries out and crumbles away, the exalted of the people of the earth dwindle. The earth is also defiled by its inhabitants, for they violated laws, altered statutes, and broke the everlasting covenant. Therefore, a curse devours the earth, and those who live on it suffer for their guilt. Therefore, the inhabitants of the earth decrease in number, and few people are left. Isaiah 24:1-6
You really need to read the entire chapter 24 to get the full feeling of how bad this prophecy foretells. Now many Biblical scholars, and theologians, as well as commentators – take this prophecy to mean the localized region of the land of Israel. Yes – it can be interpreted that way. But prophecy I’m learning is always much deeper and complex than we fully understand. This is information coming from a place where ‘time’ isn’t a factor, and the Hand of God is always the determination of everything. So … this prophecy could easily be fulfilled again… literally… globally. The wording in this prophecy certainly does use global terms like ‘the earth’, and ‘inhabitants of the earth’. It sure seems that the ‘earth’ now is experiencing some real ‘birth pangs’ and literally shaking violently lately. Bigger earthquakes? Yep. Worsening droughts? Yep. The earth plundered? Yep. The earth defiled by its inhabitants? Yep. Wars and rumors of wars? Yep. And all of these are seemingly getting worse and intensifying.
When global leaders tell religious leaders after hearing the gospel say that they haven’t any need for forgiveness … well… that doesn’t bode well for the people… as …
Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before stumbling. Proverbs 16:18
Have we seen ‘pride’ lately coming from country leaders? Yep. Have we seen self-absorbed, narcissistic, evil driven individuals who only think of themselves rising to the top ranks in many countries now? Yep. Lately, when a top ranked individual was caught lying, manipulating, and the cause of thousands of human deaths had to sit in front of the “elected house” – they took the ‘fifth’, refusing to answer any questions over 100 times – because they knew they were ‘caught’ and couldn’t hide any longer. Yet – it seems the top rank elite individuals never pay for their ‘crimes’ like the common man who ALWAYS pays for the elite’s sins. Don’t fret or worry, God WILL bring righteous judgment! Vengeance IS God’s. This is mentioned three times in scripture.
Vengeance is Mine, and retribution; In due time their foot will slip. For the day of their disaster is near, And the impending things are hurrying to them.’ Deuteronomy 32:35
Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written: “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Romans 12:19
For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay.” And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” Hebrews 10:30
Remember Jesus parable of the ‘splinter in the eye’? (Luke 6:41) We must ALWAYS be aware of the ‘log’ in our own. The need for humility and a repentant heart is ongoing while living on this earth. We ALL are still encased in a ‘fleshly mortal body’ whose desires we must deny and submit to the will of the Holy Spirit. Mercy and forgiveness are found at ‘the foot of the cross’ of Christ. That blood-stained wood – was VERY expensive.
The Lord’s hand is NOT short when it comes to righteousness and justice. He WILL make everything … right… once again. Us short term mortals can’t understand the eternal nature of things – and yet we are partially immortal as our soul and spirit will live on. Those who are His will get to see everything put back into perfection.
Father YOU are our shelter. Under YOUR wings we find salvation and protection. Jesus YOU are my LORD and HEALER! Holy Spirit YOU are my Guide and Teacher.
We cry out “Maranatha”! (1 Corinthians 16:22)
