For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!
No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. Matthew 6:21-24
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:2
For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written,
“I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.”
Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 1 Corinthians 1:18-20
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. 1 Corinthians 2:14
What are you focused on? More money? More influence? More popularity? Becoming successful in your eyes? Becoming the smartest person in the room? Being ‘loved’ by everyone? What concerns you the most? What do you have anxiety over? What does you mind ponder over? Your situation? Your ‘lack’ in your view? What are your eyes set upon? What are you reading? What are you saying? What is it that mostly comes out of your mouth? What are you listening to? Who are you agreeing with? Who do you surround yourself with? Who are your real friends? What do you invest in, with your time, your eyes, your effort, and your mind? Are you more concerned about what others are doing instead of looking at your own behaviors?
What has eternal value? What does God love? What has eternal rewards? What has God told you personally in your heart? Do you believe Him? Do you trust Him? To what degree? What has the Holy Spirit asked you to do? Last week? Yesterday? This morning? Are you listening? Can you hear Him? Are your ‘ears’ attuned to His whispers in your mind? How are you treating those closest to you? With love? With all of the fruit of the Spirit? (Galatians 5:22-23) Which ‘master’ are you serving? Which ‘master’ is instructing you? Self? Whoever strokes your ego? Whoever ‘tickles’ your ears? Who is asking you the hard questions? Who is exposing the real you? Do you ever think about any of these questions? Or is this new to you?
What have you done with your opportunity to invest into eternity? What will you be bringing with you? Are you able to answer all of these questions honestly, or do you find yourself trying to convince yourself that you are ‘fine’? Have you even considered that you will one day stand before a complete and Holy God and He will judge you for it all? How honest have you really been with yourself with the … Truth? Or do you enjoy deceiving yourself? Or do you just feed your flesh to feel comfortable?
What does God see when He looks at you? Have you ever asked Him?
