In the morning…

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;
    His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning;
    great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

Most mornings I walk early and pray – usually around halfway through the walk the sun rises. And usually if it is a beautiful creation morning – I take a picture. You can find some of them on my Instagram account under ‘terminallycommitted’. I greet Him in the morning giving everyone and everything to Him. Praising Him for another day to serve Him, live for Him, and asking for His help to do His will for that day. He IS my portion. He IS my life. For without Him I would NOT have life. I thank Him for ALL He has given me – especially for my wife, son, daughter, daughter-in-law, and now granddaughter!!! Family is the one thing which can be eternal if everyone knows the Lord. So… I PRAY hard for them, praying for the Lord’s Presence in their lives. Praying that He would work in their lives. Praying for His blessing to lead them in His path for them.

What is your morning ritual with God? Do you have one? Is He the first one you greet when you open your eyes? Do you purpose to spend the beginning of each day with Him? Is He who you share your inner most struggles and desires? Are you able to be completely honest with Him? Or are you stuck in a religious rut trying to find just the ‘right words’ to say? God doesn’t want your religious performance – He wants your heart and true honesty. Can you express that to Him each morning? Do you make the time to do that? I suggest you find the time and desire to greet Him in the morning and pour out your entire heart to Him. You will find your soul and mind is much more ready for what the Lord has for you that day if you take the time to meet with Him each morning.

Back in 1974 when I gave up my entire life to Him – I knew I would ONLY live if He gave me HIS life. The ‘death sentence’ was final according to all the medical ‘professionals’. But God… He is my Healer. He is MY LIFE. So now I know each and everyday has a ‘purpose’ IN Him, with Him, through Him. His way, His will, His love. Am I always successful each day? No. I am challenged, and set upon by the enemies of God, I struggle with the atmosphere of the world, and strive to stay focused on Him all throughout my days. But I do know …the days I am successful …when I begin with Him – I do better.

Are you determined to know what He created you for? What has He divinely placed within you for His glory? What has He specifically created you to do? These are the big questions that can only be answered by Him to you. Do you spend enough time with Him to learn more about those questions? Do you ever just sit and listen for His voice to you? Calm and at peace – waiting on Him? I like to go on long walks with Him. What do you do with Him?
