The testimonies of God!

Psalm 119:14

I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches. KJV

I delight far more in what you tell me about living than in gathering a pile of riches. MSG

Remember a translation is just an interpretation of the original language. Language and the meaning of words unfortunately is always changing. It’s the downfall of living in a world plagued by the enemies of God who are always inventing new definitions of words so that they can confuse the human race. So, this only highlights the need for the ‘reader’ to have an intimate relationship with the One who ‘inspired’ the Word – the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy Spirit to “interpret” to our mind and heart – we are just guessing and too often utilizing our own learned ‘filters’ of what we think the ‘word’ means. Can I be open to His interpretation / translation? Or do I think I already understand the “Word” so well I don’t need Him anymore? Do I open the scriptures with a humble attitude asking the Holy Spirit to show me His instruction, each time I read or listen to them?

What joy it is to hear of His salvation being displayed and worked in people’s lives! To hear how His Rhema Word is delivering people from the shackles of sin and disease! Earthly riches will return to dust and be consumed by fire, while His heavenly rewards are for eternity! To see those friends and family you love being blessed and healed by our Savior is truly the greatest joy! In heaven there is no jealousy or envy – but only honor and encouragement! I think every time the ekklesia (the Body of Christ) comes together – there should be a time of ‘testimony’ to hear what He is doing in those we are fellowshipping with.

Do you delight in reading the stories in scripture? Do you ask the Holy Spirit to show you something new you haven’t seen before? Do you ask Him to teach you what the scriptures have for you … in your current life and situation? Does He guide you through them? Does He bring scripture to your remembrance? Do you quickly look them up – asking Him to explain further? The Holy Spirit can make the scriptures come alive for you! It truly is the best way to encounter the scriptures! It has become such a JOY to me to read them now with Him showing me things I have never noticed before – even though I have read the passage several dozen times before.

How do we ‘overcome’ the trials we are currently wrestling with?

Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,

“Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down, the one who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death. For this reason, rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them. Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you with great wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.” Revelation 12:10-12 NAS

I will SHOUT of YOUR faithfulness and love to me Father! Jesus YOUR blood is the most powerful substance in the universe for us! Holy Spirit YOU are WISDOM and I ask for understanding – explain YOUR Word to my heart!
