Before stepping out the door this morning…

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger; for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls. But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. James 1:19-22

For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for His name in serving the saints, as you still do. And we desire each one of you to show the same earnestness to have the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Hebrews 6:10-12

and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, Romans 5:4

praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, Ephesians 6:18

But you, beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, Jude 1:20

Are you still here? God hasn’t taken you home yet? Then today is another opportunity He has given you to be His ambassador! Invest today wisely. Ever listening for the Holy Spirit’s whisper within your heart and mind. Being attentive to the fact that His Presence IS with you whether you feel Him or not. Jesus has not left you alone. Are you constantly ‘praying in the Spirit’? Has prayer become like breathing to you? Are you following the Holy Spirit’s lead? Are you settling your soul with the knowledge of His promises to you? Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to remind you of what Jesus has spoken to you? Have you strapped on your spiritual armor to be ready for walking out the day beside Him, following His every instruction?

Are you determined to encourage and pray for your fellow warriors in Christ today? What gifts have you been given by God to share with others? Have you asked God what you should give today and to whom? Listen to Him for an encouraging word to give someone, or a monetary helping gift, a small hand written note of how much you appreciate them, a phone call just to pray for them, …He is so creative and unpredictable. Are you ready to be His hands and heart today for others? Give Him an opportunity for you to watch Him work. How? By being courageous to follow His uncomfortable instructions to you … in the moment. You know… those things that could expose you and could possibly make you look like a fool. Or reveal your fallibility, weakness, and need for Him to work in your life and with the person He asking you to talk to about things only He knows about them. Yes – He wants you to present Him to others even in your current state that you think He can’t use.

The greatest adventure is to watch Him work, and listen to His wisdom, and marvel in His creation. His handiwork is all around us… if we are aware enough to recognize it. Are you asking the Holy Spirit to see through His eyes? Would you like to see what He sees? Would like to feel what Jesus feels about the person in front of you? Have you ever asked Him?

Father … show me how to be ready today for that which You have for me to do. Holy Spirit stir in my heart and spirit Your power and love. Lord… I want to walk in the path You have for me today. Lead on Jesus.
