O God, You are my God; earnestly I seek You;
my soul thirsts for You;
my flesh faints for You,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon You in the sanctuary,
beholding Your power and glory.
Because Your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise You.
So I will bless You as long as I live;
in Your name I will lift up my hands. Psalm 63:1-4
On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink.” John 7:37
Our souls were created to be indwelled with His Presence. His very Presence was to be filling our souls with life and contentment. Yet now in this dimension and time – we struggle to maintain connection with Him. Jesus is our Connection. The Holy Spirit is our companion and the Spirit of Christ who is here to be with us 24/7. Our bodies naturally yearn for His Presence – but most of us don’t recognize it as that need. David did recognize it as that physical and soul need. Do you?
What are you allowing to fill your soul rather than Jesus? What distractions and untruths have wormed their way into your soul and taken up residence in you? Can you ask the Holy Spirit that question? Are you fearful of the answer? Has He already been talking to you about them? He is so gentle and loving – He doesn’t demand. Separation from God is an anathema to us in every way. What are you currently trying to fill your soul with?
Be persistent to ‘knock’ on the door in your mind – because you want to meet with Jesus. He is the ONLY One who can meet your ‘need’. He created you that way. He IS the bread of life, and the living water.
Do you really consider His steadfast love BETTER than life itself? That sounds like TC2 language to me. How far are you willing to go for His steadfast love? What limits have you put on your pursuit of God? What lies keep you from opening yourself to Him? Are you willing to surrender everyone and everything to God? This type surrender isn’t a one-time event. It is a daily and moment by moment practice. Can you slow down enough to linger with Jesus and the Holy Spirit… and listen to Him? Can you place ALL of your worries and cares back into His hands?
Prayer: Jesus, I give everyone and everything to You. Holy Spirit, I invite You to speak to me. I give everyone and everything to You. Jesus… You are my all in all, You are my Bread and living Water. Fill my soul with Your Presence. I have come to be with You. I worship You Lord Jesus. I love You Jesus.

Little confused by this statement
“Separation from God is an anathema to us in every way.”
And this one – “I give everyone and everything to You.”
Outside of those questions I appreciate the encouragement. So much discipline has to be worked in. Distraction is a common weapon and requires great vigilance
Anathema = “… refers to something or someone that is intensely disliked or loathed. It can also mean a formal excommunication or curse by a church against a person or doctrine.” To me is it a place of being ‘dead’. When we are separated from God are we really alive?
Giving everyone and everything to God is a release of all that might distract us and tie us to things not of God. It is a release of it all into His Hands.
