Yet among the mature we do impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of this age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But, as it is written,
“What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him”—
…these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God. For who knows a person’s thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God. And we impart this in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual truths to those who are spiritual.
The natural person does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned. The spiritual person judges all things, but is himself to be judged by no one. “For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:6-16
Do you listen to the Spirit of God within you? Does He impart wisdom to you personally daily? Do you have conversations with Him? Or are you still reliant on a ‘preacher’ or another to give you spiritual ‘food’ and feed you? Do you fully understand what Paul means that ‘we have the mind of Christ’? Most sitting in the IC (institutional Church) aren’t receiving any real ‘solid’ spiritual food but only the ‘milk’. Most have not learned to feed themselves and haven’t learned to go directly to the Teacher Himself.
If you are ‘older’ and seen as an ‘elder’ because of your grey hair …are you imparting spiritual wisdom to the generations below you? Are the generations below you coming to you for wisdom? Are you giving out ‘your’ wisdom or the wisdom the Spirit is giving you? Have you learned to listen intently to the Spirit of God daily and receive from Him your daily ‘assignments’ or are you just stumbling over the things in front of you? Are you able to discern the spiritual war around you? The intensity has risen and we are no longer swimming in calm waters but have to be very mindful of our surroundings and situation.
Even the ‘mundane’ motions and chores of our day need to begin to be brought before Him. All of our lives need to be ‘in step’ with Him. For His Words to us personally are life and safety. His Spirit is our Guide. Is the Holy Spirit giving you daily wisdom? Do you ask Him to give you wisdom?
Like the early first century family of God called “The Way” we too now have to be extremely mindful of the instructions and directions the Holy Spirit is giving each of us personally daily. The enemies of God are now moving quickly and evil has been loosed in so many areas around us … that we no longer can be complacent or apathetic about our spiritual daily walk. To be a follower of Jesus Christ means that you now have a target on your back even more so than before. The enemies of God are blatantly going after those who claim to be His. The atmosphere has shifted in this country to the anti-christ spirit as it now permeates most of government. The war between sexual immorality (LGBTQIAXYZ+) and Christian values is growing with our government more and more which is siding with sexual debauchery and immorality. Do we really have the ‘freedom to religion’ in this country? It seems everyone else BUT the Christian does. Who will you serve even under the threat of death? Is the Holy Spirit preparing you to face the trials He has set for you? Is the Holy Spirit giving you boldness and courage through the tests you are currently going through? Are you finding that He is instilling within you more faith because of your obedience to the last task He gave you?
Is the Holy Spirit giving you more spiritual discernment? Is He showing you what is happening around you in the spiritual realms?
Begin today — being honest with the Holy Spirit and deal with those things in your core. Your deepest fears, lusts, and sins need to be dragged out of the closet and laid before Him. Do it now before the enemy uses them against you in even a bigger more devastating way. Find a brother or sister you can trust and talk deeply about spiritual things … daily. Build your relationships deeper with the family of God.
Time is ticking down. Each of us are getting closer to our earthly end … daily. Make use of the time He has given you. My advice? Ask Him what to do with it. Walk with Him. Follow Him instead of asking Him to go with you.
