The Difference Between Spirit Filled and Non-Spirit Filled

It’s passover week and so many religious systems are now in play teaching about this time. So let’s consider the immediate events before Jesus is taken into custody for trial.

These are the reactions of non-spirit filled individuals (Jesus’ disciples), even though they have actually LIVED with Jesus / traveled with Him / heard Him teach and preach over and over / actually ministered to people on His behalf / watched miracles happen after praying for people / for almost 3 years and believed to an extent who He said He was. These were not the ordinary so so followers – they were His closest friends. Here are the accounts of the 4 gospels on that last week.

Matthew 26

Mark 14

Luke 22

John 18

Questions:

What were the differences in the disciples before and after the baptism of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2? At the time of the week of the trial — the VERY end of His ministry the disciples were well versed in Jesus’ teachings and life. So what were they lacking? What are we personally lacking now? Why? What is holding us back from being who HE wants us to be?

What happened to Peter? What changes within him made him different? The guy who attacked a soldier cutting off his ear (did he miss what he was going for?) when they come for Jesus to arrest Him but then turns around in a matter of hours to deny Jesus 3 times to the point of cursing. Religious emotional zeal rather than actual spiritual power and revelation?

What changes has the Holy Spirit made in you?

What was Jesus’ purpose of dying for us? Is it just heaven, eternal life? Then why don’t we immediately go there once we’re saved?

Maybe Jesus came to restore our relationship with God THROUGH the gift and Presence of the Holy Spirit? What made that possible? So what do you know about the Holy Spirit? How does He speak to you? How does He move through you? What fruit (His fruit Gal 5:22-23) is He working on in your life right now? What spiritual gifts is He working through you right now / lately? (1 Cor 12 / 14) How much are you wanting to grow in Him? That will ONLY happen when you learn FROM the Holy Spirit. It is THAT relationship with the Holy Spirit which will actually determine your spiritual maturity. NOT SITTING IN A BUILDING LISTENING TO A SERMON.

A person can be very religious and a faithful Sunday service attender, read their Bibles, pray their ‘one way’ prayers daily, give monthly to the Church, and all manner that this current Church system marks as a “strong Christian” and yet not know ANYTHING about the Spirit of God… personally. They remain basically an infant in spiritual things and not able to be used by the Lord for anything of any significance. Basically when confronted with REAL spiritual evil they will be about as effective as the sons of Sceva. (Acts 19:14)

Who teaches you the Word? If it isn’t the Holy Spirit —then you are standing on someone else’s understanding and what you ‘know’ really isn’t yours. The RHEMA Word is the Word of God given directly BY the Holy Spirit to your heart and mind, WITH explanation and understanding. Then you must work that understanding out in your everyday life and circumstances.

Don’t live on someone else’s faith and teaching. Go to the Holy Spirit YOURSELF for your answers. Let Him explain the scriptures and give you direction. LEARN FROM HIM.

  1. Well said. It wasn’t until the Baptism of the Holy Spirit that my relationship with the Lord really became intimate. I am so thankful for His patience and grace for me. May I continue to learn the art of full surrender each and every day.
