For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness. Psalm 26:3
Steadfast in Hebrew has several words, mainly revolving around steady, firm faithfulness and trust. In Greek there is a word στηριγμός / stay-reeg-mos which means steadfastness, firmly set, fixed, and stability. How secure are you in your own ‘steadfastness’ when the winds and waves come to beat upon your foundation? (Matthew 7:24-27)
But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are His,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.” 2 Timothy 2:19 What is this ‘seal’? The Holy Spirit is our ‘seal’. Do you know His ‘mark’ upon your heart and spirit?
The battle to stay in the fight is real. Weariness, pain, injury, and fear, all swarm over us in the heat of the battle. Can you keep your eyes and heart fixed on your goal under the onslaught of all the opposing forces? Do you even know your ‘goal’?
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14 What is your ‘upward call’?
So what then? What are we to do? How do we make it?
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 15:5-6
We make it …because of Jesus. We make it with Jesus. We make it through Jesus. And we do it together.
Step by step. Day by day. Moment by moment.
Is it easy. NO WAY! In fact – it will challenge you more than you’ve EVER been challenged before. The tests are impossible for humans. Only THROUGH Jesus is any of this possible.
But He said, “What is impossible with man is possible with God.” Luke 18:27
Prayer: Jesus I need you! Only you Jesus have made a way for me. Jesus you are my rock and my firm foundation. Come Lord Jesus, Come Holy Spirit. Come fill me again. Come over me with your Presence. I need your steadfastness and endurance. I confess this is too much for me, I need you Jesus.

1 thought on “Steadfastness.”
Funny that when I get older I realize this truth more and more that I need Jesus everyday, every moment. It’s common and was for me as well to quote Phil 4:13, when I was young and strong ad though that verse applied to me.
It’s now as I am older that I learn that verse can only apply when I’m weak. When I’m at the end of my own abilities
