Whoever is not with Me is against Me, and whoever does not gather with Me scatters. Luke 11:23
And He called the people to Him and said to them, “Hear and understand: it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.” Matthew 15:10-11
Do you ‘scatter’ more than invite? Are your words mostly condemning or are they Truth spoken out of love? What is the content you constantly share with everyone else? Is it pointing people to Jesus? Or is it negative, judging, and base. What is always flowing out of your mouth, phone, or keyboard? What percentage of your communication that you produce honors and praises Him? Do you ‘do’ and ‘say’ certain things to ‘perform’ and ‘act’ like a follower of His all the while your heart is more concerned how others will view you? Are you more concerned about working to get a large ‘audience’ / following? Or are you more concerned about what He thinks?
On that day many will say to Me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and cast out demons in Your name, and do many mighty works in Your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Matthew 7:22-23
Social media has become a huge vomit cistern. On it people say and show some of the most hateful and vile things – just to get attention. ANY ‘good’ content must be very carefully curated by YOU, and still the algorithm from the site still brings so much worthless posts to your ‘feed’. Do you actually ‘feed’ on it? People are now programmed and incentivized to post things that get ‘viewed’ and ‘liked’ playing mainly to the absolute lowest and based human nature within us. It is a very dangerous place for a ‘soul’. Are there ‘good’ things and people there? Yes, of course. Let me ask you this… how would Jesus judge your content and comments that you post? Would Jesus approve of what you are consuming there … in your ‘feed’? I honestly am ashamed of what I have ‘viewed’. I have had to repent and confess a lot to Him. More and more I am staying away from social media sites. I am cringing more and more of what I see in ALL of the media. It has become so vile and evil. It spews lies and falsehoods in every direction. It blasphemes God and Jesus like never before in my lifetime. It encourages so much division and hatred! I am looking at fewer and fewer news sites now for my information.
Oh Father help me! HELP US!!
What are you feeding your soul? What is the Holy Spirit asking you to give up? What is hindering you from hearing Him … better? What is stealing your time instead of being with Him? What does the Holy Spirit say you are addicted to? What does your soul and fleshly nature ‘pine’ for? Can you recognize it? Or are you in denial and purposely blind to it? Can you give it up … for Him? Is He constantly asking you to pray? Are you? Are you praying for what and whom He is asking you to pray for? Are you constantly asking Him questions? Are you listening to His answers to you? Are you determined to ‘feed’ on what He would want you to consume?
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8
Holy Spirit I surrender to YOU! Show me what, where, who, and why. Please teach me. I seek Your wisdom and understanding.
