Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. The sun shall be no more your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give you light; but the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Isaiah 60:1,19
In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16
For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2 Corinthians 4:6
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
What do we do when the spiritual darkness increases around us? Focus on the ‘light’ and glory of God that indwells you! Ask the Holy Spirit to rise within you and shine the light brightly for all to see! You are to be the ‘light’ wherever you are. Do you carry His light? Is there a ‘lamp shade’ currently in your life, blocking or dimming His light in you? If the ‘light of God’ within you feels dim – then you should ask the Holy Spirit why. When you ask Him … pause and listen to what He has to say. Do you need to ‘clean’ the ‘pipe’ of the junk … then confess, repent, and allow Him to clean your soul… immediately. Be real and vulnerable before Him. Humbly submit to the truths He tells you. Agree with Him quickly and go in the direction and with the instructions He gives you. Obedience is better than ‘religious’ words or rituals.
We need to be cleansed and healed by His light. His light has about the same effect on our soul and mind as the sun has on our bodies. We NEED to bask in His light. IT IS SPIRITUAL health to our minds and souls! Is His light real? Is heaven real?
And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. Revelation 21:23
Jesus IS the LAMP! Is Jesus the light within you? Ask the Holy Spirit what you can do to walk in His light … more. Listen …to His answer to YOU! Then be courageous and DO what He tells you to do! This is how we learn to trust Him more. This is how He ministers to us … moment by moment, in your ‘secret place’ of your soul. Does He bring scriptures to your mind? Do you ask Him about them? Ask Him to help you understand them. His wisdom is worth more than gold and silver! Dig deeply into His wisdom!
Learn to go to Him OFTEN throughout your day. Speak to Him like you speak to your ‘best friend’. Have conversations with Him all day long. From the moment you rise till you lay your head on the pillow.
Father … I confess I need the light of Jesus to shine brightly within my soul. Jesus, restore my soul. Holy Spirit show me what I need to do to ‘clean my soul’ so that Your light can shine brighter within me. I love you Jesus! I trust You Holy Spirit. I give everything and everyone to You Jesus!
