Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed. Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. Hebrews 12:12-14
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. James 5:16
But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—He said to the paralytic— “I say to you, rise, pick up your bed, and go home.” Mark 2:10-11
Jesus heals. Which part of you needs healing? What part of you is eternal? Which part of you is the most important that needs healing and renewal? Your soul? Your spirit? Jesus always goes the most important issue in a person’s life – the physical part of us is actually at the end of that list. Yet … we often see it as the most important part. How many did Jesus heal who then just walked away? How many really understood what that healing meant? How important is our willingness to forgive have to do with our healing?
Even the most religious experts had issues understanding the spiritual needs of the human heart and life. Nicodemus truly wanted to understand who Jesus was. And Jesus spoke the truth to Nicodemus and still he didn’t understand. Read John 3:1-21 for the account of the meeting with Jesus and Nicodemus. We ALL need healing from Jesus. We all need to be ‘born again’. We all need the infilling of the Holy Spirit to help us renew our spirit, and souls!
When our soul and spirit are enveloped and immersed with the Holy Spirit we are ‘saved’ by His grace and love. Jesus paid the price for us to have an intimate relationship with the Father. Jesus gave us access to Him! With that ‘healing’ we are given eternal life – no matter what happens to our physical body. Have you made Jesus your Lord and Savior? Has He given you the Holy Spirit? What evidence do you have and know deep in your soul that the Holy Spirit is with you?
For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of Me and of My words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when He comes in His glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. Luke 9:24-26
And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into Your kingdom.” And He said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in paradise.” Luke 23:42-44
Our bodies are actually very fragile in the scope of things. The ‘curse’ makes us subject to the second law of thermodynamics, and the body will return to it first ‘estate’ … which is dirt. When God placed Adam and Eve in the garden, He provided a way for their bodies to be forever regenerated by eating of the Tree of Life. They didn’t get that chance to eat of its fruit.
He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden He placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life. Genesis 3:24
Jesus can and many times does heal our physical body. And then there are times He says “No. My grace is sufficient for you.”
So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited. Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:7-9
Have you sought out Jesus for your healing? Have you had a real conversation with Him about your need for healing in your soul? Is His grace enough for you? Is His Holy Spirit enough for you? Is it His strength that you are relying on … or is it your own? Do you still want the control or are you willing to yield your struggle for control to Him … and His timing?
Jesus… I give it ALL back to YOU! Father… Thank You for Jesus! Holy Spirit speak to me, and tell me what I need to do. I surrender to You Holy Spirit.
By YOUR strength, by YOUR life, by YOUR stripes Jesus … I live. Heal me Jesus. Honestly Jesus… I know my soul needs healing, and only YOU can do that.
