You will seek Me and find Me, when you seek Me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find Him, if you search after Him with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29
I love those who love Me, and those who seek me diligently find Me. Proverbs 8:17
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.” Matthew 7:7-8
And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward Him and find Him. Yet He is actually not far from each one of us, for
“‘In Him we live and move and have our being’;
as even some of your own poets have said,
“‘For we are indeed His offspring.’ Acts 17:26-28
How genuinely have you been seeking to find God … everywhere? Can you recognize His ‘fingerprints’ when you see them? Who can show us the Father’s works? Who makes it evident to us of His involvement all around us? How do we begin to really ‘know’ Him? IS it necessary for you to separate yourself to go on a ‘spiritual pilgrimage’ so that you can finally ‘experience’ Him? Some take that drastic action (like walking / hiking the Camino) because they are so hungry for God but somehow really don’t and haven’t experienced God in their everyday lives. For some that is what God is leading them to do. For others God is asking them to seek Him RIGHT in the current middle of their daily lives. People are looking for comradery in their pursuit of God, and they’re NOT looking for ‘religion’, or politics, or culture – but REAL connection. This often takes a break down of our ‘comforts’ to realize being ‘human’ has a lot of similarities. In the seat of the soul of a human is a need to seek and connect with their Creator. I believe it’s in our basic DNA. But in this war infested realm there are only two sides. The side with the Creator and the side of ‘self’. Do religious rituals really satisfy this need for connection with God and the need for comradery with His ‘offspring’? Some might say yes, and others don’t find ANY real connection by going through the ‘religious motions’.
What did Jesus really promise us? Did Jesus mention or promise that we would have a “Bible” that would explain everything to us?
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. John 14:26
But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness about Me. John 15:26
Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send Him to you. John 16:7
This last ‘gospel’ from John was supposedly written DECADES after the previous three gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke). John LIVED to see the ‘spread’ of the gospels more than any other of the original 12. What was this ‘promise’ Jesus gives to all of them? John highlights this promise so succinctly.
Who guides us in ‘The Way’? Who ‘helps’ us find Him? Who ‘bears witness’ of Jesus to each one of us? How determined are you …to foster this ‘promised’ relationship with the Holy Spirit?
Are you seeking the Holy Spirit … in your daily life? How much? With ‘all of your heart’? Are you deceiving yourself? Are you actually open and listening for Him? When we truly and honestly pursue God with all of our heart …Whom will we find?
Jesus. And Who shows us Jesus? That pesky ‘Third Person of the Trinity’. Maybe you should pursue Him as well. Hmmm.
