Concerning angels… the book of Hebrews has this to say..
Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation? Hebrews 1:14
Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured from sinners such hostility against Himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted. Hebrews 12:1-3
Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Hebrews 13:2
Do you even believe in the spiritual realm? How aware of it are you? Certainly the new testament writers believed in angels and actually had encounters with them. Has God stopped the ministry of angels for the human race? Do they no longer work on His behalf to serve us who have inherited salvation through Jesus? We have become so closed minded to the things of the spiritual realm which literally surrounds us at ALL times. Since we rarely experience angels with our physical senses — we often forget that they could be helping us in ways we can even fathom or understand by the order of the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.
Especially in times of crisis — they move at the direction of God for our benefit. Of the many testimonies I have heard about angel interaction with people — they were definitely in a time of personal crisis or conflict. I too have had several instances in my life where the only explanation would have been the intervention of an angel — because physical properties and natural physics were seemingly violated. God HAS a purpose for us and when we are submitted and surrendered to Him … angels could be our ‘helpers’ in great times of need. Could angels be sent when we are under spiritual attack? Daniel or Peter anyone?
Yet we have become so comfortable thinking and reasoning that the only things that matter are in those in which we can experience with our five physical senses. The only real ‘help’ and value is monetary based. We easily slip into fear when we become slightly uncomfortable or stressed because things aren’t going the way we want them to. Our pride then rises it’s ugly head demanding to be stroked so that we will ‘feel’ worthy, or important. If we get a few things going in the way we want them to …lust then sneaks in to tell you to get ‘more’.
The battle is real. In fact I’ve come to believe that the spiritual realm(s) are actually as real if not more so as they most likely have even greater dimensional properties than we can experience. It seems angels have the ability to work in our ‘space’ without being seen. As do so many other spiritual entities, whether good or evil.
Yet where are the reminders from the spiritual elders / teachers exhorting their listeners to be ‘taught’ by the Holy Spirit about these realms? Spiritual discernment anyone? Do you know if your battle within you is with your own fleshly desires or ‘outside’ forces / entities trying to get you to agree with them? How many times do you agree with a ‘thought’ without ever checking with the Holy Spirit where it came from? How many times are we all agents for the enemies of God because we agree with the lies they have planted within us? How may of these thoughts lead from pride, fear, or lust?
Angels exist and move in the spiritual realms — they ARE real. Should we worship them? No. Should we listen to them? Only if they can pass the spiritual test. (1 John 4:1-3) Why do we need to test them? Because there are ‘fallen’ angels who can still look like an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 7:14)
How do we actually become more spiritually aware? That is the ministry of the Holy Spirit in your life. Do you ever ask Him to teach you how to be more spiritually aware of spiritual entities and extra dimensional realms? It all begins with relationship with Him and asking. Are you willing to be taught by Him?
