The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
Many are now caught up in the study of eschatology (A belief or a doctrine concerning the ultimate or final things, the destiny of humanity, the Second Coming, or the Last Judgment). While we are in the count down of days and the corruption rages globally it is very natural to turn to pondering about one’s own ‘last days’. Many strive to find someone who will tell them when that will be, and figure out the timeline in detail by trying to interpret all the prophecies of that coming time. But what good will that do for your soul if you are presently separated from His Presence and intimate personal guidance? What good is it to know when you’ll be pushed out of the airplane if you haven’t learned how to use your own parachute? If you haven’t learned to decipher the current deceptions going on around you, how will you be able to discern the coming future lies? If you haven’t learned how to hear Him today, how much better will you be able to hear Him in the midst of the chaos when it comes? How will you be able to discern all the coming false signs and wonders if you can’t discern any of the lies and false propaganda today?
My heart is that people would not be so concerned about the cliffs edge — but be concerned why you are still walking towards it without realizing it? Do you know when the Author of your life has determined you days are up? Do you think you are immune and impervious to sickness, accident, and death now? What are you doing in your relationship with Him that is teaching you, and growing you in the knowledge of Him, beyond just the Sunday morning sermon? What are you doing that is causing you to seek Him EVERYDAY with everything that is in you? Or are you fine sitting in 1 inch of lukewarm water believing and saying you are totally immersed in spiritual things?
Folks — if you are at all concerned about the ‘state’ of things now, maybe you should push into learning His Voice within you with a greater clarity. Maybe we should be about asking Him what it is He wants to change within us with a greater fervency. Maybe we should be more focused on actually giving Him time to speak to us, and always be listening for His Voice wherever we are in our day. Do you listen to Him? Be honest with yourself. Most problems we have is because we’ve learned how to lie to ourselves, and we then believe our lies. So how do we find out the actual truth and reality of things (the ‘red pill’)? Only the Truth can tell you.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. John 14:6
Only Jesus and His Holy Spirit can reveal the Truth to you. Are you humble enough to accept that fact? Many are not. Many times we refuse to believe the sin the Holy Spirit is pointing out in our lives, we refuse His conviction within us. We are steeped in our own pride, and fear, and lust (discontentment), which hinder us from yielding to Him. We really want to think ‘we’re all that’, when actually we’re not.
For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned. Romans 12:3
Is it time to take inventory within your soul? You inherently know the dark corners in your soul that you don’t want anyone to see. Are you willing to go there with the Holy Spirit and deal with those deep issues? Are you willing to ask Him to reveal what He wants you to do about those issues?
That’s the right thing to do concerning the ‘times’ we are living in. Get ‘right’ with Jesus and the Holy Spirit and deal with your ‘stuff’ … now. That’s what is needed in your soul rather than the ‘countdown timeline’ of the ‘end days’. That’s how we truly prepare for the ‘end days’.
Then we might be ready to be used by Him for HIS glory.
