Do you greet Him in the morning?

In the morning, Lord, you will hear my voice; In the morning I will present my prayer to You and be on the watch. Psalm 5:3

But as for me, I will sing of Your strength; Yes, I will joyfully sing of Your faithfulness in the morning, For You have been my refuge and a place of refuge on the day of my distress. Psalm 59:16

Satisfy us in the morning with Your graciousness, that we may sing for joy and rejoice all our days. Psalm 90:14

Let me hear Your faithfulness in the morning, For I trust in You; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to You I lift up my soul. Psalm 143:8

The Lord God has given Me the tongue of disciples, so that I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple. Isaiah 50:4

How much do you desire His voice? Do you yearn in your soul for those intimate conversations with Him? What sustains your soul? What feeds your soul? When Jesus was tempted by the devil to make bread out of the stones …what was Jesus’ response of truth?

But He answered and said, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes out of the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 (Jesus was quoting Deuteronomy 8:3)

How important are the things the Holy Spirit brings to you? How powerful is His advice? What do you actually rely on? Your own desires? Your own feelings? Do you need the ‘bread’ that will actually sustain your soul?

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; the one who comes to Me will not be hungry, and the one who believes in Me will never be thirsty. John 6:35

Think about what will sustain you today… what will your soul really need to make it through? Does the Holy Spirit give you life-giving spiritual ‘bread’? Have you ever asked Him for it … in the morning?

Do you seek Him in the morning… for words to feed your soul? Can you praise Him and remind yourself of all you have to be grateful and thankful for? Do you purposely set your soul to listen for His words to you … first thing in the morning?

Learn to be disciplined first thing in the morning seeking His words to you. Make Him the priority of your day. Before seeking another’s words in the morning – seek His words to your soul. Greet Him with praise and gladness each morning. Set yourself to listen to Him every morning.

Then the Lord came and stood, and called as at the other times: “Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel said, “Speak, for Your servant is listening.” 1 Samuel 3:10

Do you think God wants to speak with you every morning? Can you make space for that ‘meeting’ morning time? Do you think God only talks to the great and mighty or the highly spiritual?

Opening his mouth, Peter said:

“I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him. Acts 10:34-35

For there is no partiality with God. Romans 2:11

How tender is the Holy Spirit? How much does God love you?

Whose voice do you listen to? Who has the words of life for your soul?

Father YOU are the giver of life! Jesus YOU are my BREAD of life! Holy Spirit YOUR word(s) sustains my soul!
