Not Slow.

The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not willing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:14

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who wait for His faithfulness, Psalm 33:18

As I sat here this morning asking the Lord what He wanted to say, I heard “Not slow.” The Holy Spirit obviously knowing the anxiousness in my heart about our current situation and how we seem to be stuck in limbo not able to go forward. Then came the other scriptures brought by the Holy Spirit. And I’m back to surrender and submission to Him, giving everything and everyone back to Him …  placing it ALL back into His hands. Can I wait in His peace? Knowing He really is in control? Can I stand on His promises – even when I can’t see any movement? Can I be faithful in the little things doing what I can – and leaving the rest to Him, taking small steps of faith in the direction He has told us to go? Sometimes the battle is totally in our minds. Sometimes we allow our negative thoughts in our mind which causes anxiety to affect our soul and emotions. Many times I must return to square one, submitted and surrendered.

I sigh, knowing there is so much I need to learn and grow in with Him. Can I declare my faith for all to hear? I think of Proverbs 3:5-6…

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.

I want to have the courage to actually say – what my heart knows. To declare Him Lord – in all circumstances, everywhere, not being ashamed to mention His name to strangers around me. Being bold in faith and spoken word. Do I really trust His timing? Do I really believe that He is actually presently working on our behalf? How much trust do I really have in Him?

Father YOU are my Source. Jesus …YOU are love, and light, and truth. Holy Spirit I surrender to YOUR advice and counsel. Lead the way Lord! Show me the small steps you want me to take today.

Where are you currently in this process? What can you share with others in the Body to encourage them? Can you focus on others when you seemingly are ‘stuck’? Can you pray for others when everything seems stagnant around you?

Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart.

I’m trying Lord.

  1. I am grateful that He loves us despite our daily shortcomings and failures

I tend to believe that He loves that we try
Even failing and falling short but that we try

So grateful for His promise that His mercies are new every morning

You also remind me of Psalm 37, which has been difficult for me because, a) I want retribution and justice NOW
    b) simply fail in patience and the whole “waiting” thing
