The Little Things

“One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is another’s, who will give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.” The Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him. And he said to them, “You are those who justify yourselves before men, but God knows your hearts. For what is exalted among men is an abomination in the sight of God. Luke 16:10-15

Catch the foxes for us, the little foxes that spoil the vineyards, for our vineyards are in blossom. Song of Solomon 2:15

The tiny details; the little things matter to God. Did you know you can take out a large building if you know how to strike just the right part of the foundation? What or Who is your key stone in your foundation of your life? How stable is your life right now? Have you been taking hits to your life? What is the mortar or glue in your foundation? What are your relying on as everything in your life begins to shake?

And Jesus said to them, “You will all fall away, for it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered.’ Mark 14:27

What was missing from those disciples who lived with Him for three years to allow this to happen to them? What changed in them to become the very people of God who were willing to go to their deaths for Him? Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to work on your spiritual foundation?

For through Him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. In Him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit. Ephesians 2:18-22

I contend that the ‘glue’ in my life is the Holy Spirit who takes the broken pieces of my life and and restores me in His power and love. Then the light of God begins to shine through the ‘cracks’ of my life that are filled with the Holy Spirit. The foundation He has built in my life upon the very intimate relationship through and with the Holy Spirit and those He has guided into my life who continually encourage and challenge me to ‘press into the things of God’. Our lives eventually becoming living epistles of God to be examples to the world of His grace and love. Our very bodies actually becoming His dwelling place shining out His glory and majesty connected to the entire Body of Christ for a sign to the universe of God’s great plan of salvation.

What details in your life does He want you to change? What little nagging idiosyncrasies in your character are spoiling His work in you? Have you allowed Him to begin to put you back together — in His Spirit? Do you think religion will really be a stable foundation for you as the enemy knows how to destroy everything built on ‘sand’ / things of mankind. Are your rituals and many ‘worded’ phrases going to save you in the times of terrible life crisis?

Seek Him while He can be found. Submit to the Spirit of God and ‘hear’ His (Rhema) Word to your heart.
