The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders, and with all wicked deception for those who are perishing, because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. Therefore God sends them a strong delusion, so that they may believe what is false, in order that all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? John 8:44-46
What lies have you adopted as the ‘truth’? What biases based on lies have you set into your character that keeps you from the seeing the Truth the Holy Spirit is trying to share with you? We all are ‘taught’ by un-Godly sources surrounding us, through so many media streams, cultures, environments, and narratives. How much of it have you set before the Holy Spirit to tell you whether you are to accept it or not? Are you purposely pursuing the absolute truth? Or are you seeking out sources and narratives that only feed your current biases? Who holds the absolute truth? Anyone but the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit?
How many of your biases have led you into sin? How many of your beliefs are wrong? Can the Holy Spirit still convict you and correct you? Are you sensitive and close enough in your relationship with Him for the Holy Spirit to do that? My heart is SO grieved when He points out my biases that have kept me from seeing His truth about things. Why? I have accepted some lies along the way and adopted them into my ‘opinions’, and I form a wrong bias. It truly IS my fault! I know He is not trying to ‘grieve’ me but to help me understand the Truth. Don’t the scriptures give us the instruction on how to deal with our thoughts and the things we are taking in?
For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh but have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to obey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, when your obedience is complete. 2 Corinthians 10:4-6
How much of what I ‘take in’ through all the media sources (TV, Internet, books, movies, etc) do I take to Jesus and the Holy Spirit to advise me as to whether it is the truth or not? Do I have that close of a relationship with Him? Do I actually think doing that is important? Do I ask Him to teach me and advise me WHILE I am taking in all those media sources? Do I take in His teaching as much as I am taking things from other ‘sources’? Is He the MAIN One shaping my opinions and teaching me? Is He teaching me through the scriptures?
In this age and time, we are being bombarded with information at a rate that is far beyond past generations. How are you dealing with all of it? Are you curating what and who you listen to more carefully? Do you even ask the Holy Spirit who you should or not be listening to?
How much are all of us being deceived? Do you know? Have you asked Him? Or have all of your set biases already decided for you? How quickly do you accept things because of the biases you have already formed? This is probably one of the most dangerous things we are dealing with at this time. If we can’t hear Him – we WILL be deceived! Is Jesus actually your LORD and Master of your entire life and being?
Father — we NEED You! Jesus draw close to us, I want YOU to be my Truth! Holy Spirit reveal the Truth to us in greater ways!!
