Lose your life to keep it?

Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. Whoever seeks to preserve his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will keep it. Luke 17:26, 33

Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect. Matthew 24:44

What specifically were the days of Noah like?

The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight, and the earth was filled with violence. And God saw the earth, and behold, it was corrupt, for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. Genesis 6:5, 12

I obviously don’t know exactly when the ‘day of the Lord’ will arrive. All I can observe is that we are now advancing in evil at a rate as a human race as well as in knowledge and technology that I have never experienced in my lifetime. Centralization of power has become the clarion call of the richest elite – who are at the pinnacle of pushing for complete digital control over every area of life on the planet. The biggest global corporations are demanding complete centralization. This of course is what John’s Revelation talks about at the end of days. This is inevitable, there is NO stopping this slide now. We can only TRY to slow the progress down. But unfortunately, only a few see this and the majority of people are now oblivious to the coming reality. So, what are we to do? Exactly what Jesus told us to do. Be ready. Be prepared EVERYDAY to do as He asks us to do THAT day. This is a daily walk now. Press in to Him and learn your daily divine assignment as His ambassador. How? This is learning the process of listening to the Holy Spirit in prayer each morning and setting yourself in surrender to Him. Allow Him to remind you of scripture to encourage you each day.

Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
    the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
    His understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the faint,
    and to him who has no might He increases strength.
Even youths shall faint and be weary,
    and young men shall fall exhausted;
but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
    they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
    they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:28-31

The Truth of reality is …as hard as things currently are… it will only get worse. The need to walk by His strength – will become a necessity. Can I learn today what will be needed for tomorrow in the way of ‘walking with Him’? Now is the time to learn to hear Him clearly. Today is the day to learn to walk out what He wants us to do …each day. This is NOT a religious practice of formulas, rules, and rituals but one of relationship where you have a ‘conversation’ with the indwelling Holy Spirit. Can you relinquish your life to Him this morning… again? What is the prayer of your heart?

As the Apostle Paul told the believers in Corinth…

I affirm, brothers and sisters, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, that I die daily. 1 Corinthians 15:31

Today is the day to again be Terminally Committed To Christ.

For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1:21

  1. A powerful reminder of the times we are in, knowing what’s to come as it is written. But many will fall away into the hands of the enemy like a tornado, unable to get out when the realization of what is happening hits them.
    My prayer daily is for the Lord to strengthen me, pull me away from the things of this world and help me draw near to Him. To keep talking with Him in all things and prepare for Him. To show love to those around me especially when it’s difficult.
