They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. Just as You sent Me into the world, I also sent them into the world. John 17:16-18
ἁγιάζω (hagiazo) = make holy, treat as holy, set apart as holy, sanctify, hallow, purify. To set a thing apart ceremonially and mentally before the Lord as holy.
This is a thing that God does and asks us to do as well. We are to set apart our lives, our minds, our hearts, and our wills to Him. Holiness, sanctification, and consecration all have the same root of meaning- as God’s ‘only’.
This is only done through the blood of Jesus.
So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. The one who eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, the one who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. This is the bread that came down out of heaven, not as the fathers ate and died; the one who eats this bread will live forever.” John 6:53-58
Because of the free will God has given to us through His love for us – we must choose Him to receive His communion and life with Him. Then we should present ourselves as a ‘living sacrifice’ to Him as our worship. When you learn deeply of His love it becomes the only reasonable thing to do.
Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Romans 12:1-2
Are you ready to consecrate your entire spirit, soul, and body to Him, your mind and intellect, your emotions and feelings, and your heart and will in complete service to Him? Can you pray that out loud to Him?
Prayer: Lord Jesus restore my union with You. Take me deeper into your heart and secret place. I give all of myself to You. I consecrate my complete spirit, soul, and body to You. Holy Spirit come and teach me about Your Presence. Make me into what You planned for me to be. Lord Jesus shine your Light in me.
With the beginning of each new day – would this be an acceptable thing to do and ask? How about when we lay our heads down to sleep each evening? Are you having trouble with dreams? Consecrate your mind, dreams, and sleep to Him.
