Purpose and dreams.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble,
    you preserve my life;
you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies,
    and your right hand delivers me.
The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me;
    your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
    Do not forsake the work of your hands. Psalms 138:7-8

Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. Proverbs 19:21

The purpose in a man’s heart is like deep water,
    but a man of understanding will draw it out. Proverbs 20:5

And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

Tychicus will tell you all about my activities. He is a beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow servant in the Lord. I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are and that he may encourage your hearts, and with him Onesimus, our faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will tell you of everything that has taken place here. Colossians 7:7-9

What is your purpose in God’s heart? Has He birthed a ‘dream’ in you that He wants you to fulfil? What is deep within your soul to accomplish? When you dream about doing the Lord’s will – what comes to mind? Do we trust Him enough to pursue those dreams He has placed deep within us? Or has the enemy stolen your belief in those dreams? What has God gifted you with? What innate skills do you possess? What fires your soul to creativity? When you get alone with God what does He encourage you to do?

How much do you trust Him? Do you trust Him with your dreams? Have you ever asked Him for the steps to accomplishing those dreams? Are you willing to do the uncomfortable things to get to those dreams? Are you willing to submit to discipline to reach those dreams? Are you willing to submit to His choices and decisions to find out the purpose He created you for?

I am currently in the midst of these questions and asking Him to reveal the next steps. Many of the very close steps He has revealed to me are very uncomfortable and I feel they are not what I’m good at… but I am willing to listen and try. The dreams He has set deep within me seem impossible. Only God could bring them about. But I am willing to take seemingly the micro steps He gives me towards them.

He is Lord of the Harvest of my life. He IS my Source. He is the One who can raise me up and put me down. He is the Lord of timing and time. I don’t want to be behind or ahead of Him – I want to walk WITH Him … beside Him as He instructs me along the path. I would LOVE to see the dreams He has put into my heart come to fruition. It will take an open ear, listening, obedience, discipline, hard work, creativity, and trust in what He is telling me to do. Am I willing to ‘step out of the boat’? Yes. But I will need His hand to hold onto. He is the One that controls the lightening. In this time… lightening can strike very fast and almost instantly you are ‘known’ with fame and fortune. Are you ready for such dangerous tests? Are you going through a refining now? Are you facing difficult tests that are challenging your character and soul? Are you listening to His advice?
