Who is your source of spiritual information and teaching? Your ‘pastor’ at your church? The internet and videos? Podcasts of your favorite guys discussing theology or cultural issues? The internet prophets? This website? None of those sources (including this website) should be your MAIN source of learning and teaching of spiritual things. You SHOULD be getting all of your main spiritual information and teaching DIRECTLY from the Holy Spirit Himself! He should be the One leading you to scripture and explaining it to you. He should be the One showing you the areas you need to repent of and change. The Holy Spirit should be the One you are interacting with daily with your questions. The whole of your spiritual interaction should be FIRST with the Holy Spirit. OR if you encounter something, someone, He should be your first ‘filter’ and the One you ask questions of.
Beloved … you should know the times are coming when you will have nothing and no one to count on in that moment of crisis or catastrophe or disaster … but God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. This intimate connection with God moment by moment is BY far the most important thing you should have in this life. Not your religion, or your church, or your friends are your real spiritual ‘security’ or source. Yes – they all are important but should NOT be your first source of spiritual information. They should be confirming what the Holy Spirit has ALREADY been telling you!
Stop trusting the ‘system’ for your security. Your eternal security can ONLY be secured by One man — and its NOT your pastor, it’s Jesus. We have become too complacent in our intimacy with the Holy Spirit. We should be ever diligent in seeking Him SO much more! We should have a constant inner dialogue going on with Him. Praying unceasingly. Every source we now have could immediately be taken away from us. What would you have then? What have you secured in spiritual places? What have you secured within your soul? What have you secured in your mind?
If you’ve been reading my posts you know I’ve said this many times. But because I have new readers all the time I will say it again. Can you actually recognize His Voice within you? Jesus literally said …
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27
So this seriously begs this question. Learning to recognize His Voice within you should be a VERY big thing! It should be a VERY high priority for you. All of us should be getting better at recognizing His Voice in our minds. If the enemies of God can plant thoughts into your mind — certainly God can as well. Can you discern the difference? This is a learned discipline. Knowing the scriptures will help you.
Begin today. Start the conversation with Him today. Start asking Him questions today. Start listening for Him today.
