Your real priorities

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil. 2 Corinthians 5:10

If you’re a disciple of Christ — you WILL face Him when you are done with this earthly life. Don’t think you or anyone will ‘get away’ with anything, as He will judge with absolute fairness your life like an open book to Him. Nothing will be hidden from Him. NO one will be able to use any excuse or argue with Him, for all the facts will be exposed. That said, what you have repented of and ‘put under His blood’ will not have any effect. That is the GRACE and mercy He provides. Now knowing this shouldn’t we be pressing into Him with even more soberness and perseverance?

With humility we stand before the Holy Spirit willing to hear what HE wants to say to us. We are willing to hear His correction. We are willing to obey His instructions leading us to repentance. We are submissive to His plan for our day, and seek out to do all He is prompting us to do. Each day has enough challenges of it’s own. Let’s be in the moment with Him throughout our day. Having that inner dialogue and conversational prayer with Him wherever we are.

If you knew you were going to be standing before Him in the next hour … would that change your direction? We must always be ready.

the master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know Matthew 24:50

Who knows what hour or day He will require you to stand before Him?

And he told them a parable, saying, “The land of a rich man produced plentifully, and he thought to himself, ‘What shall I do, for I have nowhere to store my crops?’ And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.” Luke 12:16-21

Considering all of this — let us be sober and listening for His instructions to us THROUGH the Holy Spirit! Are you in an in-depth intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit that you can hear Him directly? Or does He still have to speak to you through another? Why? Because you never give Him the time to speak to you? But you’re willing to listen to others before Him? You listen to many other ‘teachers’ but never the Teacher? Who exactly is your Source of spiritual teaching? What maze, confines, or box have you put Him into for Him to speak to you?

When He shows you your real priorities will you give Him excuses?
