I time warped last night. I sat down and rewatched the movie The Sound of Music. I found myself weeping real tears more than I ever have before over the movie. The movie depicts values I grew up with … love of God, love of nature, love of family, the joy of fun and play, and obviously the joy of music. It also espoused the love of community, the love of country, patriotism, and strong values of right and wrong. No where were there ‘woke’ ideologies, or ‘in your face’ examples of sexual deviancy. The message coming from the character of Captain Von Trap was one of staunch discipline but also later … love, and also of a willingness to give it all up for the ‘right thing’ and leave everything behind knowing that it would effect every member of his family. It was okay that men could be men and women could be women.
We have come so far from those values now in this world. This isn’t a country thing — it’s now a global thing. My heart was truly moved last night seeing how much has been lost. And I know none of it is coming back …like it was then. The darkness / evil / and corruption has invaded to the extent that it will literally take the ‘hand of God’ to restore the world. The spiritual leadership will have to actually be willing to ‘give it all up’ to ‘save’ what little remains. The ‘ministry’ was never considered a ‘money’ position in the time of Jesus. Those disciples were willing to go to the ends of the earth, leaving it ALL behind for Jesus, and then knowing that they would die for their faith .. and they still went. Now anything that disrupts the ‘tithes and offerings’ is a major catastrophe for the ‘career’ minister / CEO pastor and they will compromise anything to restore that flow of money. God is no longer their Source of life or inspiration for most ‘ministers’. If darkness has risen so quickly it is because those that should have the real Light have lost ‘it’. The slide comes from the strict institutionalization of the Church. This country in its early days .. almost came to naught because of the fanatical dictatorial control of religious leaders in the Puritans. Study the real history of this country and learn how staunch dictatorial control by certain religious leaders who ruled with an iron fist over certain communities. Ex. Salem witch trials. What really led to the holiday of Thanksgiving? Without the Indians help .. the first settlers would have died.
Ever since Constantine in 300 AD tried to save his emperor-ship by legalizing the religion of Christianity, and the Nicene council was convened, and the Roman pagan priests all become ‘Christian’ priests, the big slide into the institutionalization of the Church began. They adopted so many of the same practices of the religious sects like the Pharisees. They went ‘back’ to old covenant ways in having a human mediator between the people and God.
I look to the spiritual leadership as responsible for the massive slide in cultural degradation around the globe. Especially here in America where the ‘business’ of Church is SO prevalent. Where are the examples of giving it all up for Jesus? They are very few and far between now. It’s so much easier to just slip into the comfortable Sunday morning service routine. Shuffle in – shuffle out and feel good about yourself that you’re a ‘good’ Christian. Be comfortable, don’t look at all the glaring evil just outside the walls, just sit for an hour and be entertained.
What has happened to the prayer ministry? What has happened to the real prophets and deliverance ministry? The enemy has come HARD after any real individuals willing to speak the Truth in plain language. It’s better if it is convoluted in academic ‘speak’. No one should be listened to if they don’t have the correct ‘certificate’ / degree from an ‘approved’ university or seminary. Only the ‘experts’ can say what is ‘real’. (*Note much of that was sarcasm) I can’t help but see the glaring void of the Light — because of the darkness of the time we are now experiencing.
The Sound of Music is SO different in it’s values than what is happening now. I’m truly sad for the generations having to experience such much evil running rampant throughout the majority of society today. Yes I know it was just a movie. But as a ‘story teller’ I know that it is the story writers that shape culture. The actual family Von Trap’s story wasn’t exactly like the movie — but it had the major elements. The movie writers and movie makers used the actual story to craft a story and movie that would reach through the decades that resonated with most of the globe. The enemy of God went hard after the actors and makers of that film as so many people wrongly looked at those actors as having those same actual values the movie espoused. That movie made Julie Andrews’ career. From then on the enemies of God worked hard at tarnishing her reputation. The same is currently happening with any actors involved with any movies or TV shows depicting Christian values (like The Chosen). Pray for those actors – that they would be filled with the very Presence of the Holy Spirit / God – for they definitely have a ‘target’ on their back.
Now the separation between good and evil is very defined and becoming more so every day. We need individuals who are truly passionate about their faith and love of Jesus — far beyond the religious walls, who will not comply with the evil that is dictating so much of the regulations and laws now. Captain Von Trap was ‘enlisted’ into the navy of the Third Reich without his approval or consent. Like… ‘take this clot shot’ or your fired. The same evil forces are running rampant and unleashed over the earth today. Just because it’s “legal” doesn’t make it right. Everyone will still have to face the Real Judge no matter what the ‘law’ was at the time.
I seems California’s governor is leading the way in this country with laws that will restrict the moral, upstanding, Godly individuals trying to do the work Jesus has given them to do. Definitely California needs spiritual leaders who will not comply with the evil dictates coming from the current governor. The rest of the state is quickly becoming San Fransisco. Like it or not California has become one to the front lines of the spiritual war raging through this country right now. To stay here and remain true to Christ will mean becoming a ‘radical’, sold out, follower of Jesus — WAY beyond the walls of the institutional Church. The flag with the ‘spider’ is infiltrating more and more. We will have to decide whether to go into the ‘employ’ of the enemy or be willing to walk away from ‘everything’ when the time comes.
I made that decision back in 1974.
Have you faced that decision yet?
