Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, he must follow Me; and where I am, there will My servant be also. If anyone serves Me, the Father will honor him. John 12:24-26
Love. Life. Light. What really are those? All are simple to encounter, but not so easy to understand deeply.
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
The agape love of God is greater than we will ever fully understand, but yet it is the very thing that we were made for and is the only thing that satisfies the ‘hole’ in our souls. I believe life is the pursuit of love, which creates light.
And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. Revelation 21:23
In the heavenly city there is no night but always day in the light of Jesus! We need love and light for life and in God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit is an abundance of all three, for they are the Source of all of them. We understand them more as we experience them in greater and greater ways. Going towards God is to enter the light. Being in His Presence is to experience love beyond comprehension, yet we are SO enraptured by His love, and never want to leave it.
The same ‘feeling’ happens in flashes of experiences here in this shadowland. Like when I’m with my children, and grandchild. I ALWAYS want to be with them. Yet — here in this place we only get brief moments together, and really don’t understand how precious they are. The older we get .. the comprehension of that precious love grows.
Can we learn to appreciate and experience His love for us? How? By ‘ministering’ to Him. What does that mean? Certainly NOT what we see from religion! But what we see with a loving grandfather and his grandchildren. Pure joy and fun! Sure there are moments with parents and children which are like it — but somehow the ‘grands’ have a life experience that amplifies that ‘knowing’ of how precious those children are. The elders in the family have the scars to understand how precious those moments are and want to have them as much as possible.
I’m beginning to understand how much God looks forward to times with those who will ‘minister’ (basically people who just want to give their love to Him more and more) to Him. Because of my grandchild and experiencing my fierce love for her I want to more and more return the Father’s love to Him in telling Him how much I love Him.
We love because He first loved us. 1 John 4:19
Today — let the Father know of your love for Him! Shout with joy! Praise Him! Sing to Him! Write a love letter to Him! (and don’t show anyone else) Because of His love we have life and all it’s blessings.
The purpose of love, light, and life is …intimate relationship with the Heavenly Father and all of His family.
Love big today!
