A truthful witness saves lives, but one who breathes out lies is deceitful. Proverbs 14:25
Let everyone beware of his neighbor,
and put no trust in any brother,
for every brother is a deceiver,
and every neighbor goes about as a slanderer.
Everyone deceives his neighbor,
and no one speaks the truth;
they have taught their tongue to speak lies;
they weary themselves committing iniquity.
Heaping oppression upon oppression, and deceit upon deceit,
they refuse to know Me, declares the Lord. Jeremiah 9:4-6
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. John 8:44
If we say we have fellowship with Him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 1 John 1:6
I write to you, not because you do not know the truth, but because you know it, and because no lie is of the truth. 1 John 2:21
When did it become the normal practice in the leadership of this nation to blatantly lie? When did lying become a virtue? When did lying become ‘justified’ as the correct thing to do? Who did Jesus say He was? Now people lie about lying saying that they aren’t lying when they actually are. Could it be …they actually believe the lies they are saying? Could it be most of the leadership in this nation have no real relationship with the Truth?
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. John 14:6
Can Jesus then be a lie? Or be a part of the lie? Or promote the lie in any way? Why are we accepting those who obviously lie? Or those who twist the truth of things?
How are we to know the Truth of things? How are we to know when someone is lying? There is only one sure way.
When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come. John 16:3
But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness about me. John 15:26
We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error. 1 John 4:6
This is He who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth. 1 John 5:6
If the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and truly indwells your body — are you able to ‘hear’ Him? Are you able to converse with Him? Are you able to learn from Him? Are you able to hear the Truth from Him? How well acquainted are you with the Truth? Have you learned how to discern the Truth when you hear it? Is He actually guiding you in Truth? Are you and the Holy Spirit having times together where you and Him are in times of ‘teaching’? Are you purposely seeking Him out when you need to know the truth or make a decision?
What should we think of about lying? Is it something we should practice? If the Truth is like a sword — should we learn how to properly use it? Can you use the Truth all the while within the confines of the Fruit of the Spirit? Are your responses permeated with the Fruit of the Spirit? (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self -control) Or are they filled with your own opinions, expectations, and reactions from your fears and past wounds?
Are you quick to react with ‘words’? Or do you stop and ask the Holy Spirit for the correct response and words to say?
A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver. Proverbs 25:11
When someone speaks to you with the whole of the Fruit of the Spirit filter — you are much more likely to receive it. If there is ANY Holy Spirit Truth within you .. He will confirm it. How much does the Holy Spirit confirm the Truth to you? Does He help you discern it?
Don’t lie. Speak the Truth in love.
