Steps of faith in spirit and truth

God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:24

There is a big movement currently to say we have no soul or spirit, and that idea is just disinformation. We also know that those statements come from the anti-Christ spirit. We are made is His ‘image’. We are also a tri-part being, body, soul, and spirit.

Within our spirit is our will and with that we make our choices. Do you choose to worship God? How? How do you show Him your worship? Just following along in a song in a Church service? Do you think your spouse would like that type of declaration of love? Just mouthing the words with everyone else?

What is the truth about you? What is in your deepest core? You know those things you don’t allow anyone to see and you yourself refuse to look at because it is pretty ugly. That is the raw truth about you. Can you worship Him from that place? Can you bring those before Him asking Him to forgive you, cleanse you, heal you, and fill you with His Presence. Can you be that ‘real’ with Him? Do you truly love Him and worship Him? To what degree?

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Deuteronomy 6:5

How exactly are we to do that? Have you asked the Holy Spirit? Has He told you what is hindering you? What is keeping you from entering into His Presence? What is keeping you from that intimacy with Him? Has the Holy Spirit given you any instructions? Have you done them or just denied He ever told you those things?

How do we really please God?

And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who seek Him. Hebrews 11:6

So how do we obtain ‘faith’ that the Hebrews author is speaking about? It is obviously more than belief, because the demons believe and shudder.

So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. Romans 10:17

That wordword’ there is the Greek word Rhema which is the “Word of God” spoken to your heart / core. That is how faith is divinely implanted into you by God. But to receive that ‘word’ from God you must be able to hear Him.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27

Do you hear Him? How? What Has He said to you directly? What has the Holy Spirit said to your heart? Are you using the faith He implanted to do what He has asked you to do? Why would He increase your faith if you can’t use what He has already given you to do what He has asked you to do? Our faith is increased as He sees our obedience with the faith He has already given to us and He gives us more for the next assignment He has for us. These are the steps of faith. He implants the faith in us — and we walk it out in obedience to His Holy Spirit’s instructions. So what pleases Him? Walking and working WITH Jesus.

Jesus says..

For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light. Matthew 11:30

Is He telling you when to pull, or turn, or rest? Or are you fighting against His yoke trying to control Him? Are you pulling with Him or against Him?

If you are in that kind of intimate, working, relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit – then worshiping Him in spirit and truth happens everyday —not just in a Sunday service. Find that level of relationship with Him.
