The greatest malady of the time we are living in… is spiritual blindness. All one has to do is contemplate the state of the world these days and know that we are deeply impressed or oppressed with the world’s encompassing and increasing ‘wisdom’.
For the wisdom of this world is folly with God. For it is written, “He catches the wise in their craftiness,” 1 Corinthians 3:19
What is the source of the world’s suffering and troubles the people are experiencing? We couldn’t be too far off to state that it is namely spiritual blindness. There is no doubt that the masses are blind, because the leaders are blind. It surely is the blind leading the blind. The unfortunate part is .. this malady is also greatly within the Lord’s people. Speaking generally, American Christians today are very spiritually blind.
All spiritual vision and seeing is a work of the Holy Spirit and part of the Kingdom of Heaven. And it is only in part. He is the One who gives us ‘salve for our eyes so that we may see’.
For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known. 1 Corinthians 13:12
It is possible for us to been ‘enlightened’ by the Holy Spirit and ‘see’ in a more full way with every fragment of Truth He gives to us by the Rhema of God. It is not by our power or effort that it is done, but by Him alone. Our spiritual life is not only a miracle in it’s inception; it is a continuous miracle in this matter right onto to the last. We do not seek ‘new’ revelation or ‘extra’ Words from God but the vast amount of the Word which we have never ‘seen’ by His Holy Spirit’s vision.
It becomes the spiritual paradox of the more you ‘see’ the more you realize that there is so much more to ‘see’. It’s an overwhelming feeling when He shows you more of His expanse, and you know that there is so much more that stretches far beyond this lifetime’s power can experience.
Lord make us all to be of those who have their eyes opened.
And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; Acts 2:17
