Restored.

He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Psalms 23:3

The Lord sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health. Psalms 41:3

Restore us, O God; let your face shine, that we may be saved! Psalms 80:3

Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you. Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. 1 Peter 5:6-10

The enemy is a master at twisting language and crafting lies. They want us to think we have ‘lost’ things, and that they have ‘stolen’ things from us. But what God has given remains. We have a body still but the enemy thinks they can make us believe they can steal our health AND life. Yet God – He can restore us.

Think of a car sitting in a field slowly decaying and rusting. It can be taken out of the field and restored.  A master restorer can take the car and break it down to the very frame, acid wash it, coat it, and build that car back piece by piece, bolt by bolt, to a place possibly even better than when it came off the assembly line in the first place. God wants to do that with us. But we have to be willing to enter His workshop and stop sitting out in the field … alone. We have to allow the Master Restorer to do things to us that might feel invasive, and scary, as we are probed at the very core of us. The enemy didn’t steal our parts – they convinced us that the field was a nice place to be, rather than under the roof of the Master Restorer.

What is the Holy Spirit asking you to deal with? What is the Holy Spirit asking you to give up? (your spot in that field?) Paul refers to the act of becoming a ‘living sacrifice’ in Romans 12:1. Paul wants us to be ‘transformed’ by the renewal of our minds. Sounds like a deep restoration back to original specifications, back to the original design plans. Then we will be able to do that which our Designer created us to do!

Do you need restoration? Then go to the Master Restorer. The One who created you and knows you better than you know yourself. Be willing for Him to break you down and deal with those things within yourself that need restoration at the very basic level.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit. Psalms 51:12

He WILL RESTORE us fully and completely in His time if we are willing! The Master Restorer knows the correct process and time for each part of us.

Are you in His workshop now?
