Trust in Him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah Psalm 62:8
O Lord my God, in you do I take refuge;
save me from all my pursuers and deliver me, Psalm 7:1
When you are wise enough to see the coming storm … what do you do? Prepare? What preparations are the most important? Where do you find your trust is really placed? Is it in material security (home, food, weapons)? Financial security (savings, pensions, investments, metals)? What we usually forget is how fragile our lives are… and how close we are to our eternal state, because in a flash, in a brief moment we could shed this mortal body.
And he said, ‘I will do this: I will tear down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.”’ But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.” Luke 12:18-21
“Trust Him at all times,” is the answer and goal. Do you trust Him to just do what you want? Or do we trust Him to keep us safe from His point of view? What is His point of view? The final eternal view is His. We are currently set into this dimensional time perspective that has shaped how we perceive things… it’s all we know, except for those brief moments the Holy Spirit has given us experiences ‘outside’ of our limited scope. So many of us are trapped by our very limited experiences, and anything outside of our history of experiences causes fear and uncertainty within us. And so we usually don’t trust anything we haven’t experienced before, as we have allowed fear to dictate our path. This is a major problem with those who haven’t developed an intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. So many don’t know anything about Him other than the brief mentions of Him in sermons or brief public prayers by the so called ‘spiritual leaders’. The Holy Spirit is a mental concept that is accepted by many within organized religion but without any depth of personal relational experience. But He is VERY real and willing to inhabit your body… which will mean you will be able to hear Him in your mind. Can you discern Him versus your own thoughts, or the planted thoughts by the enemies of God? These are the things that should be taught by the role of the prophet in your ekklesia. The prophet in your ekklesia should be equipping the Body on how to recognize and follow the Voice of Jesus within them.
Do you have the courage to ask the Holy Spirit to show up in a big way in your day today? Do you have the courage to ask Him to prepare you for what is coming in your remaining life / days? We aren’t asked to ‘gain faith’ but we are asked to trust Him. God gives us a ‘measure of faith’, but do we trust that given ‘seed’ of faith planted in our hearts? Do we trust God when facing that coming storm? Can we hear His voice of instruction to us, telling us what to do … even though it doesn’t fit what we think should happen?
Are you ready to face the coming storm?
