Proper spiritual building work

As a skilled and experienced builder, I used the gift  that God gave me to lay the foundation for that building. However, someone else is building on it. Each person must be careful how he builds on it. 1 Corinthians 3:10

So much taught by our institutional educational (including the religious ones like most institutional Churches) both public and private systems are built for the mind not the heart or spirit of the individual. So the supreme importance of spiritual growth really shouldn’t be centered around Christian ‘doctrines’ that is mentally appraised, apprehended, and memorized but … the living and clear spiritual apprehension of Jesus Christ.  That is the work. What exactly are you building? Are you, through a living, clear intimate relationship with the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit building a structure that comes out of that inward spiritual knowledge and work? Or are you growing by things said and mentally judged, appraised, dissected, accepted, and assented to? What is the nature of the building you are working on? The work that should be engaged by every follower of Christ should be spiritual building through the Holy Spirit that works livingly into the very substance of our being, and into the very fabric of our lives. It really isn’t about getting to know a great deal about Christianity. Make a note of that. The heart of the whole matter is the difference between the philosophy of Christianity and Christian doctrine … and the spiritual knowledge of Christ.

The Lord (Holy Spirit) will teach us… that the lesson is that my heart is bent upon learning that Christ is our foundation, not the assurance of our decision, nor our persistence, or our strength, or our abilities, or the measure of our activity or work for the Lord, nor ANYTHING that constitutes our Christian life. All of those things are simply the ‘outworkings’. Again, the thing that constitutes a spiritual building is that Christ is our foundation, and that we are inseparably linked to Him by faith. Everything else is suspended as a secondary consideration until that ‘stone’ in the foundation of your spiritual building is settled.

Simply …it’s like God is trying to get us to know the Truth of the matter. The Truth that HE has given us His Son and said to us: “In Him you have everything, and the first thing is not what you are, what you can do, or anything to do with you; it is what HE is!” You then are faced with all of your weaknesses in your life and the multitudes of contradictions, imperfections, lack of attainment, but you will believe in Him and His ability to bring you through to the end in spite of it all. When we truly face the reality about ourselves and say, “I am not this, and I am not that, and I am not something else; or else, I am this, I am that, and all this goes against me.” Nothing of all this is the point at all.

The totality of every Divine requirement in us is in …Christ.

And what did Christ give (send) to us after He ascended into His Kingdom for our education and to help us build our own personal spiritual building? Was it static information on paper or the very living and third part of the Trinity to dwell in each individual’s heart and soul to those who ask for Him? The Word (Logos and Rhema) is more than a ….book. We don’t worship inanimate objects like paper and binding, but the living Creator, His Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit.

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

So Who is helping you with your spiritual ‘building’ in your life and teaching you how to build it?
