Jesus said…
“And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
“And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. Matthew 6:5-8
Pray! Learn how to have conversations with the Holy Spirit AND Jesus! Purpose in your heart to speak with Him MORE! In fact — get into the habit of ALWAYS keeping that ‘line’ open with Him.
This is what Paul meant when he said …
..pray without ceasing, 1 Thessalonians 5:17
This ‘habit’ should be what we look forward to the most. Being with Jesus at ALL times. Listening for the Voice of the Holy Spirit at any moment. Learning the sweet fellowship of His Presence .. daily.
As this world grows darker — we should be seeing His Light more and more .. in us. This Light is bolstered by our time spent with Him daily. Our hearts that have Him set before us while we go about our day and daily work. We learn to stay in a constant state of ‘prayer’. Not a religious form .. but one of fellowship and inward conversation. A closeness that can not really be described, for it exists in your soul and spirit as you walk and talk together with Him.
Today purpose in your heart to go on a ‘walk’ with Him. Seek to put Him first in all areas of your life.
Learn to put your prayer life as a priority in your day. Not formal religious prayer — but heartfelt honesty spoken to Him. Learn how to pray WITH Him. Asking Him whom you should be praying for! Learn His heart for others. Learn to experience His heart, and feel what He feels for those around you. For some this is the ‘ministry’ they’ve been called to by Jesus. Some have become His intercessors — to be hidden from the world but are mighty warriors in the Spirit.
We ALL need to be listening to Jesus at ALL times. For without Him we can do nothing of value.
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. John 15:5
Go PRAY!
