So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. Revelation 3:16
“No, that can’t be me!? I love Jesus, I go to church, I pray before meals, I pay my tithe, that can’t be me.”
How many of us are just going through the motions? When’s the last time the Holy Spirit convicted you of something, and you actually repented and did something about it? When’s the last time you had a long talk with Him where it wasn’t just your voice in the conversation? What’s the last thing the Holy Spirit asked you to do for someone else? How does one really become ‘lukewarm’? How many days has it been since you felt the Holy Spirit within you? Or heard Him?
Have you stopped pursuing Him? Have you put your spiritual growth needs far back on your priority list? Have you stopped trying to have a conversation with Him every morning? When’s the last time you really worshipped Him, alone, in the secret place, where no one could see you?
It’s never too late to talk to Him. It’s never to late to begin to worship Him when you’re alone and no one knows but Him. I encourage you to go to the most honest place in your heart and spill it out before Him. Don’t sugar coat anything with Him be absolutely real and transparent with all of your concerns, fears, hurts, and frustrations. Make this a practice until you’ve run out of those things and then begin to pour out your gratefulness, love, and appreciation to Him.
Don’t let routine, or the cares of this world EVER get in front of your relationship with Him. Be honest with yourself, what really is your highest priority? What you do during your day will tell you what your priorities are. Review your prayers and conversations with Him. When’s the last time you really had a long conversation together?
