Then Moses said to the people of Israel, “See, the Lord has called by name Bezalel the son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; and He has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, with intelligence, with knowledge, and with all craftsmanship, to devise artistic designs, to work in gold and silver and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood, for work in every skilled craft. And He has inspired him to teach, both him and Oholiab the son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan. He has filled them with skill to do every sort of work done by an engraver or by a designer or by an embroiderer in blue and purple and scarlet yarns and fine twined linen, or by a weaver—by any sort of workman or skilled designer. Exodus 35:30-35
What burns in your soul … to do? What fuels your soul’s existence? What activity and work never seems like “work”? Some people have labeled those things … hobbies. Some people only get to use the term ‘extra-curricular’ activity to describe what they ‘love’ to do. What ‘design’ was placed into your DNA? What were you ‘created’ to do? Some of us have looked our entire lifetime to find that ‘thing’. What would we do … even if there was no monetary reward doing it? Blessed are the individuals who find that ‘thing’. Even more blessed are those who can find a way to survive while doing it.
Ponder it this way… what would you imagine yourself doing for an eternity in heaven? Where there are no boundaries of creativity and joy? When you do that ‘thing’… everyone one around you recognize the ‘hand of God’ in you and with you. It is your ‘gift’ from God. Just like Bezalel and Oholiab. Most of us are still working towards that ‘thing’. I have friends who their ‘gift’ from God is SO recognizable and undeniable. Bright and shiny gifts are what I call them. Some of us have more ‘hidden’ gifts, that are deep within our souls. Looking at these two ‘workmen’ of God, they had multiple talents all around a certain craftsmanship. They obviously ‘worked’ at their skills – for they could ‘teach’ others. To ‘teach’ others you have to have worked out what is needed to accomplish a task and goal. What is easy for you to ‘teach’ others?
If you were the ‘enemy’ of God’s workers and could hinder their effectiveness and ability, how would you go about it? How would you discourage them? What would you say to them? Can you recognize some of the things the enemy of your soul is saying to you… now? Now can you recognize what the Holy Spirit is asking you to do? Can you see what He inspires in you? What does He say to you that ‘fires’ up your soul? How does the Holy Spirit inspire you? Have you ever asked God what He made you to do? What things sound so interesting to that ‘fire’ in your soul – that you know it would really benefit others? Where were you designed to ‘fit’? (Reread 1 Corinthians 12:12-31)
Father… we want to know what it is You created us to do. Jesus… talk to us about where we fit into Your Body. Holy Spirit inspire us! Show us OUR way Lord! Lord… help us to hear YOU! Help us to recognize the enemy’s lies about us. Lord… show us what YOU see in us!
