Hope – the God kind

We are in a time where real hope will become more precious than gold.  Hope that God gives is not the definition of hope we’ve been taught. Having a proper understanding of the hope that the scriptures talk about is important.

Hope has become seen as something that should almost be negated, or shunned. “Don’t get your hopes up!” “Fools only hope.” “Pie in the sky is hope.” What I’m learning is that our enemy has from the beginning had a strategy of destroying language. Beginning with redefining the meaning of words until confusion becomes the the normal state of communication. You can see the evidence of this strategy everywhere in this culture and time. We have to be diligent in our communication and speak the truth clearly and definitively.

Knowing all of this …God still wants us to have hope. What is this hope He wants us to have?

First it is a hope in God Himself. He WILL be the Judge and bring final justice. He will reward those who have been faithful and abiding in His Son Yeshua with eternal citizenship in his Kingdom.

It is a hope that KNOWS God WILL work out all things in favor for those that believe in Him.

Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” And a hope that goes through severe trials and difficulties knowing He will be there right beside us. Hebrews 13:5 “…for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

This kind of God-hope isn’t about a ‘maybe’ but a surety. It is something that WILL be in the future. It is something to look forward to with great desire. Read Hebrews chapter 11 for God hope is also related to faith. Those who abide in Him KNOW with ever increasing surety the HOPE that awaits us. Faith, hope, and love, and we know which is the greatest. These BIG three attributes in the Kingdom are ever present within it’s citizens.

How does one increase their hope? Like almost all things …it comes by relationship and time. As one walks together year after year, going through trials and challenges together, working through intimate issues together you get to ‘know’ what you can expect from each other. It’s the same …with the relationship with the Holy Spirit. It takes time and lots and lots of communication. The Holy Spirit isn’t just those goosebumpy ‘feelings’, it is His Voice indwelling in you that you need to learn to recognize and follow. Learning how to communicate with Him (two way) is essential for a faith filled walk with Him.  When that communication becomes a normal part of your life — you’ll find the God kind of hope growing within you. A ‘sure knowing’ filled with faith, and all the fruit of the Spirit.
