For even when we came into Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were afflicted at every turn—fighting without and fear within. But God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus, and not only by his coming but also by the comfort with which he was comforted by you, as he told us of your longing, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced still more. 2 Corinthians 7:5-7
Bad days. We all have them. Where everything just doesn’t go as you want or expect, and you feel defeated and unworthy, and everything you try seems to be a failure. You could be physically, and emotionally exhausted. You also might become aware (usually after the fact) that you were under heavy spiritual warfare. These kinds of days are all too common is this ‘time’ we are living in.
Does God send you comfort through your spouse, and or friends? Does God give words of encouragement to those close to you to bring to you? This IS the Body of Christ. This IS the ekklesia / “Church”. (reminder Church IS NOT the building or 4 walls – it IS the people who are connected together BY the Spirit of God)
Is the Holy Spirit giving you ‘words of encouragement’ to give to others? Be obedient and DO it. Don’t dismiss those promptings, for they are VERY important in this life and battle, to help build one another up. Titus came to visit Paul after Paul had a very difficult time.
Can you be a ‘light-bringer’ to those around you? Are you listening to the whispers of the Holy Spirit within you? Can you be His messenger of hope, and love, and support to your spouse, and spiritual family? Are you being obedient to the Spirit of God and praying for them when He prompts you to?
In tough times we all need God’s support. Most of the time He sends someone with what you really need at His time. Do you recognize God’s support when it comes? Are you grateful for it? Do you thank Him for it?
Trust God.
