I want you woven into a tapestry of love, in touch with everything there is to know of God. Then you will have minds confident and at rest, focused on Christ, God’s great mystery. All the richest treasures of wisdom and knowledge are embedded in that mystery and nowhere else. And we’ve been shown the mystery! I’m telling you this because I don’t want anyone leading you off on some wild-goose chase, after other so-called mysteries, or “the Secret.” Colossians 2:2-4 MSG
This life is about finding out our purpose in Him. We were made to be loved, for love, and through the love of the Father. When we begin to believe and understand that in truth we grow in maturity and wisdom. We were made to be a part of His great tapestry of love that will be a display of His glory and love for all of time. We each have a part touching many other threads and lives, woven together in strength, design, and purpose. What we often think is circumstance is actually not. God is utilizing everything for His purposes. Our ability to begin to know this will depend on our proximity to Him. When we choose to move away from God we go into darkness, confusion, delusion, and lose time. The great ‘secret’ and mystery is Jesus. Many will say, “Jesus isn’t a mystery, we’ve been shown Him.” Many have been told and shown Jesus and still deny Him. Many have been pointed to Jesus and never know Him beyond His name. Many Church goers learn about Him but never purpose themselves to ask to encounter Him. There is still great mystery in Jesus. Theologians have been debated about Him ever since He showed up. Jesus actually described this process through the parable of the sower (Matthew 13). Paul describes those who love Him as members of His Body, each having a specific purpose and ability.
I look at pictures of people in my life and see God’s beautiful tapestry. Only the Creator can do this. Have you ever thanked God for His family He has put into your life? Are you humbled by His love and great blessings He has set into your life —through the connections of other people who also love Him? I sometimes marvel at their gifts and abilities – they are able to do so much I am unable to do. In Him we learn to love the gifts and abilities of those He has connected us with. Gratefulness should be our response to such revelation. Do you praise Him privately for His great wisdom and love shown towards you, by bringing those connections into your life? Do you pray for them when you think of them?
Start today by thanking God for all the people He has brought your way to encourage and support you. Ask the Holy Spirit to remind of all the people He has set into your life from the beginning till this day. Thank God for all those who have sowed and invested into your life — for they have been part of those threads that have been woven with you in His great tapestry of love.
